Well It opens at 10...I have got there around 9:30 on a Sat and got tickets no problem. It just really depends how assured you want to be that you get tickets. I mean I think 8:30 or 9:00 would be the earliest possible time to get there.

3pm is for evening shows. For matinees it opens at 10am. In my experience, the line usually starts forming about an hour before the booth opens.

For Evening shows the booth opens at 3
For Mat's I believe this open at either 10 or 11AM

With Next To Normal tho you can print out a Bwaybox discount code go to the box office and pick your seats
same for Phantom and it'll probably be about the same price and you get to pick your seats and not wait in the LONG Tkts line

Also N2n Has $36.50 rear mezz seats and standing room

You may want to go to the downtown booth, which is located by the South Street Seaport. It opens at 11AM, and has the same ticket availability as the theater district location.

If you can't get Next to Normal for some reason and don't feel like waiting in line, Phantom has a discount (PH2BBXE), but orchestra seats would be $81.50.

I just checked, and Next to Normal has a discount: NNBBX0915.

The tickets will be more expensive than TKTS, but you can be flexible about your seating.
