TKTS: Which Show Would Be best?

So, I'm planning on seeing about 4 shows this August while I'm in New York. I'd like to pre-order probably 2 or 3 of the shows, but I definitely want to save money and use TKTS as much as I can. So, of the shows I am about to list, which would be the safest bet to use TKTS for?

GYPSY
SOUTH PACIFIC
IN THE HEIGHTS
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Thanks for the help!

In The Heights. The show is wonderful! Have a great trip!

SOUTH PACIFIC will not be on TKTS. IN THE HEIGHTS and GYPSY probably will. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA definitely will.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

And you think I'd get pretty good seats for IN THE HEIGHTS day of? There will be 2 of us.

Phantom is the only one I'd say is totally safe for TKTS. Then Gypsy and then In The Heights ~ but those are less sure.

I'd say South Pacific is almost 100% it will NOT be on tkts.

re: TKTS: Which Show Would Be best?

For ITH they have a lottery which is front row and its only $26.50 each. If I were u I'd try lotto for ITH then if u don't win they sometimes have discounts at the theater. The discount for when I went was $56.50. Which is about the same as you would pay at TKTS. And another thing with TKTS is that you don't know where your seats are. My mom got tickets for Beauty and the Beast on TKTS for her and my sister and they were LAST row of the ORC. Which Honestly if I had the choice I'd go for the front mezz its usually the same price thats the bad thing with TKTS is you don't know where your seats are.

Also Gypsy has student rush which is Front row Then Balcony for $27

Hope I helped and enjoy your shows

GYPSY will most definitely have the best seats.

IN THE HEIGHTS has been doing very well lately and will probably be on the boards but whether or not the seats will be good is another question.

I have to shill for A CATERED AFFAIR. It will definitely be on there, the seats are fantastic (I sat front row center on a Saturday evening of all days) and the show is really great.

Yeah, we'll leave our last day open for either PHANTON or A CATERED AFFAIR.

But as far as GYPSY, should I be worried going to see the show on a Wednesday matinee? Will Patti be full throttle?

re: TKTS: Which Show Would Be best?

GYPSY- is usually there, you should be fine
SOUTH PACIFIC- never there
IN THE HEIGHTS- haven't seen it on weekends, perhaps weekdays?
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA- always there

re: TKTS: Which Show Would Be best?

I'm ordering tickets for SOUTH PACIFIC. What exactly is the "Loge"? I'm having trouble picking out seats. It's center "Loge" or completely house right, row N- only a seat away from the wall.

Gypsy and In The Heights probably won't be there, especially not In The Heights. Tony's will make their sales go up.

I haven't been yet, but I've heard the loge is fine. Especially center.

Though at this point I'd say take what you can get for it.

Phantom of the Opera is usually on TKTS, so that will definitely be your safest bet for TKTS. I'm not sure about Gypsy or In the Heights - I have a feeling they will be up there, but you might just want to order them in advance. South Pacific is your least safest bet...the show is selling out.

Phantom and Gypsy will most definitely be on TKTS, but may I recommend the thirty dollar rear mezz seats for Heights? It's not too far away, you get a great view of the lighting and set, which are spectacular, as are the dance scenes. Great save.

As for your SP seating, center loge is best.

I highly doubt that they will ever fill that theatre even after they win the TONY.
