TKTs Question

I just downloaded the TKTS Booth app and looked at what was at the Booth last week on the website. But I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into the likelihood that the following shows will be up at the Booth for any of the following shows the weekend of May 20th?
How to Succeed
Catch Me If You Can
Sister Act
I know it's hard to say in advance, but the family is visiting and those are the shows they've chosen to see. I can't find many good seats available for full price or for discounts, and I'm sure the shows are holding all of the best seats for Tony voters. Would it be worth it to wait until day-of and get TKTs tickets or to wait until a few days before and see if any house seats are released? They don't mind paying full price, as long as they're getting a great seat and I just can't decide what to do. Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!

Posted: 5/1/11 at 4:50pmCATCH ME IF YOU CAN will almost definitely be up. The other two are likely, but hit or miss--and they're both often up for less than 50% off.

Posted: 5/1/11 at 5:07pmI saw those exact shows on my last trip, plus one of the last performances of American Idiot. For Sister Act I was able to get second row mezzanine center discounted seats, I had a 50% discount code for CMIYC and went to the box office because the TKTS line was crazy, and for How to Succeed I did rush. I also noticed for the coming weeks not the best seats on the weekends are available, so hopefully they are holding back some house seats.

Posted: 5/1/11 at 5:28pmIf they are more concerned about where the seats are than with the amount of money they pay, then I'd say wait to see if house seats are released a few days in advance. The Broadway community appreciates it, and TKTS will only sell you the best seats they have available at the moment you are at the window. I don't have any insight on how those seats get released though.

So true! I have friends who are in NYC now seeing shows and this happened with them last night for CMIYC which was available but w/only single seats w/partial view for $88. They passed on seeing it. They had better luck with Rush and the cancellation line for other shows.

Posted: 5/1/11 at 11:15pmThanks for all the responses. It's hard to judge if house seats will be released during Tony voter season, but I don't want to leave the family high and dry when they come into town. I'm sure if all else fails we can find something acceptable for them. Thank you so much for your help!
