*unintelligible muttering* The Producers, if I recall. They were nominated for fifteen and won twelve. They couldn't win all of them, since the other three nominations were in similar categories (Brad Oscar, Roger Bart, and Gary Beach were all nominated for Supporting Actor).

And, for the record, your name pisses me off. Updated On: 9/18/04 at 04:08 PM

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The person who's won the most Tonys is probably Harold Prince:

1956- Producer of Best Musical Damn Yankees
1960- Producer of Best Musical Fiorello
1963- Producer of Best Musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
1965- Producer of Best Musical Fiddler on the Roof
1967- Best Director (Musical) for Cabaret; Producer of Best Musical Cabaret
1971- Best Director (Musical) for Company; Producer of Best Musical Company
1972- Best Director (Musical) for Follies, along with Michael Bennett; a Special Award for Fiddler on the Roof becoming the longest-running musical in Broadway history
1973- Producer of Best Musical A Little Night Music
1974- Best Director (Musical) for Candide; Special Award for Candide's outstanding contribution to the artistic development of musical theater
1979- Best Director (Musical) for Sweeney Todd
1980- Best Director (Musical) for Evita
1988- Best Director (Musical) for The Phantom of the Opera
1995- Best Director (Musical) for Show Boat

Phew! And his last nomination, in case anyone's interested, was in 1999 for his direction of Parade.

Webber won 3 Tonys for Best Score -- Evita, Cats and Snset Boulevard; his Really Useful Company also won Tonys for producing Cats and Sunset.

Sondheim has 8 Tonys I believe -- Forum (composer shared best musical prize then), Company (2 - lyrics and score), Follies (score), A Little Night Music (score), Sweeney Todd (score), Into The Woods (score), and Passion (score).

Everyone there really is no need to answer this question. The person creating all these accounts PM'd me throughout the day informing me they would never stop creating accounts with names like mine simply because they do not like me.

It's been reported. Again, and again, and again. The threads get deleted, which is nice, but evidently the usernames haven't been, even though this person is obviously violating board policy by taking on multiple sock puppets...er, user names.
