The big fad on Broadway lately is turning films into musicals. However, with "Jerry Springer The Musical," the upcomming "Apprentice: The Musical," and "The Happy Days Musical" which has been workshopped for the past few years, it looks like we'll be seeing some TV shows on stage in the future.
So, which ones deserve this treatment? Here are my picks....
Desperate Housewives
Sex and the City
Will and Grace
The Golden Girls
Interesting game...
Good Times
The Jetsons
The Golden Girls (I second it)
Alice
The Golden Girls and The Brady Bunch have already been done on stage... this wouldn't be anything new...

Hmmm...Nip/Tuck would be a bit of a challenge but could be very interesting.
It's about making them musicals CATS...and The Golden Girls were shut down because they were performing scripts without permission, which is unfortunate, but hardly a full-fledged stage adaptation.

Interesting trivia: before Sondheim and Lapine hit on the idea of having different fairy tale characters interact in INTO THE WOODS, they toyed with the idea of different 1950's sitcom characters interacting in a musical: Lucy & Ricky meet Ward & June, Ozzie & Harriet, Ralph & Alice, etc.
Hahaha Third Rock would be great. They should do that soon while John Lithgow could still pull it off. And if only "Family Guy" could be done, too. But who would play Stewie? (Cough, cough, Bea Arthur!) Damn my cold!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling". I think it would make a great show.
Here's another two: "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons"
And I hate to say it because I despise the TV Show, but "Full House" would make a very marketable family show.

I have no idea what brought this to mind. It wouldn't be as good on stage as it would be funny but:
7th Heaven
they did a musical of 7th heaven dunno when dunno where but i know they did
it was a Valentine's Day TV episode, and failed miserably. The most awkward, embarrassing thing to watch. Not one decent voice.
