You won't have to do that.
I think I can throw myself out.
How do I cancel my account?
Um, just stop posting?

Honestly, I like Josh's negativity better than some of the 'positive thinking' going on elsewhere.
Josh makes me laugh. Positive Thinking makes me nervous.

You'll hate this, DoranC. I'll try to think positive for the next week.
But... it'll be too late, they'll already ban me from the boards because I already told them to. I had a lot of creative ideas for shows and stuff, but I don't think anyone here liked most of them. I'll try to think positive, though, and I'll be happy.

Don't stop Josh from posting. I find his pessimistic attitude amusing. Actually, makes me feel upbeat that I am not that negative!

My god, this is a nightmare!!!
I don't like to think negative, and I think it cramps my style because I am a happy individual. I'M SETTING THE WRONG KIND OF EXAMPLE FOR EVERYONE!!!!! You like me because I'm negative? Shouldn't you be flaming me because of it?!
And now because of all this, I really think I should be more positive now.

I don't think that Josh should stop posting. Up until this strike, he's always had something to contribute to this board that dealt with the musical aspect of shows. It was just the unfunny "woe is broadway" histrionics that were getting old and annoying that prompted my response.

Oh, PLEASE. ENOUGH! Who really gives a damn about this Josh person and all his personal drama? If you're really that starved for attention, go start your own self-pitying thread on the Off-Topic Board. Or better yet, go away altogether. Jesus......
Mind if we get back to actual SUBJECT of this thread?
From the Times:
"The producers’ league and the stagehands’ union negotiated into the night yesterday in an attempt to bring an end to the strike that has darkened most of Broadway for more than a week. They plan to begin talking again this morning at 9:30.
Yesterday’s meeting, at the Westin Hotel on West 43rd Street, started at 10 a.m. and was adjourned shortly after 11 p.m."

Okay, but what's there to say?

I just posted a news update. Few free to post others if you find them or discuss isssues surrounding the strike. That, after all, was the purpose of this thread -- not inanely continuing to go on about this Josh person and his neurotic cries for attention.

You could try a neutral stance, Josh.
So, instead of 'Oh! There is no hope!" or "Yippee, it'll be resolved sooo sooon!!!," just say things like "I heard tell that sources say that there may possibly be some degree of hope, if, perhaps, the sources and those whom I heard tell of the sources are found to be to some degree reliable."

Thats too bad there isnt a definite solution yet. As far as we know, at least.
I know no one knows for sure when the strike is going to be over, but I have a kind of "issue". So my family has tickets for GREASE Wednesday night, and of course, thats affected by the strike and isnt running. So we're not sure if we should get tickets for another show (for example, MAURITIUS) either today or tomorrow. We don't want to get tickets for another show then suddenly the strike is over and we can see GREASE anyways, but then we just don't want to wait last minute and go to the box office trying to find seats because we would prefer something a little more "definite".
Sorry to bug everyone with this question- didn't want to start a new thread on it, but any suggestions would be appreciated.
And lets hope we hear of a resolution pretty soon!

Okay I'll be neutral. But I cannot POSSIBLY say what you just said, because it's too long!

That sucks, Dirty Rotten Guy.
Well, while they're still talking, I personally wouldn't go out and buy any replacement seats, because, at least theoretically, they could announce the end to the strike in the next few hours and then you'd be stuck with two sets of seats.
Right now, they haven't announced whether Tuesday night's shows will go on or not, but I imagine if there isn't any resolution by tomorrow morning then they'd have to let people know and cancel those shows with a day's notice. By the same token, I imagine you'll have at least 24 hours notice as to whether Wednesday night's shows will happen or not, so -- assuming there isn't a settlement before then -- you should know at some point on Tuesday whether it'll be safe to buy replacement seats for Wednesday or not.
I know waiting sucks, but try to be patient.
^ Have they announced if tomorrow's shows are officially canceled yet or not? For the handful of shows that are/were scheduled to have a Monday night performance this week.

Actually, I don't remember seeing an official announcement about Monday night yet. Keep checking the Playbill and NY Times sites for any updates.
Yeah I haven't found one yet either, wasn't sure if it was just because it's Sunday and the online updates are taking a little longer, or if they actually haven't been canceled yet...thanks!

And I just checked the Telecharge site and it still only says shows thru November 18th (tonight) are cancelled, so that probably means no decision regarding tomorrow has been made yet.
My fingers are crossed and I remain optimistic. As long as they're talking, there's hope. I find it a good sign that neither side has thrown up their hands and walked away from the table. I read that as a willingness to negotiate an end to this nightmare.

GLORIA IIIIIN EXCELLSISS DEEEEOO!
People, hang in there. I have a feeling we're almost out of the woods. I too am taking heart in the fact that at least they're making an honest effort in negotiating.
Josh. Shut up.
I was just in midtown to meet some friends for lunch, and it was the strangest thing, on a Sunday afternoon, to see Times Square so empty. Very surreal. I wait with crossed fingers...
Always my pleasure to help Josh. Thanks for joining in the song.
