If this is true, it makes no sense. They're bringing in top notch "broadway" people for the final cast and they keep Tamyra? She hasn't helped the grosses since she has been in the cast, has mixed reviews and has a pretty horrible attendance record. Additionally she has sustained a few injuries while with the show and seems bored.

They should either legit stunt cast or bring back an old school Mimi (::cough::Sharon Leal or Marcy ::cough::).

I don't believe it to be true because it came from wikipedia. However, it wouldn't shock me if it were.

They are bringing in Eden and Will Chase two top notch Broadway performers to be part of the closing cast. Eden is someone who has gotten a name for herself by doing both Brooklyn and being in Wicked. She is someone who if she wants to is at the point in her carrier where she could originate another role on Broadway. Yet, she is choosing to come and close Rent.

As I said if this is true it wouldn't shock me but I have my doubts as to if the producers would actually keep Gray in to be the final Mimi.

i think tamyra is the best mimi ever!! she has such a powerful beautiful voice and no one can deny that, when she sings the songs like goodbye love she does it with so much emotion,its really moving, she's a great dancer and actress. viva tamyra!!!

mel b was a horrible mimi, rosario dawson dont even get me started, antonique over did it, daphne's too old and theres a reason why karmine is an understudy

Being an understudy doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't as good *if not sometimes, better* than the person who actually has the role.

In fact some folks began their Broadway careers coming in as an understudy and blowing the audience away with an amazing performance.

that said.. Marcy is fairly long in the tooth now too.. but wow.. was she a great Mimi

I love Marcy. I agree that she's old for it now, but...man, that would be great.
