I was wondering if anyone has seen Tari Kelly on for Sutton Foster as Reno (If she has been on) How is she?

I doubt she'll go on until after the Tonys (barring illness or injury, of course). Too many voters coming in between now and then.

I saw Tari play Millie and it surprised me how much i was reminded of Sutton im sure she'll be great when she does go on.

Very impressed with this clip. I've never heard of her before. Thank you for it. She has a young Christine Baranski look and attitude. Definitely a person to watch.

Wow, thanks for posting that link. I was wondering how Tari Kelly would be, and I just came back from my trip out to NY so I won't be able to see Ms. Kelly unless she leads any tour that gets put together. But the woman has chops, and even does things vocally that sound cleaner than some of Sutton's "cheating" on a few phrases here and there, that bug me. Kelly will do great.

It was interesting to note a few things about the dance in the number; the production Kelly was in definitely had less complicated tap in the number, and Kathleen Marshall's choreography is much more advanced.

Also, upon seeing that YouTube clip, another option at the conclusion was to click on a link from the 1988 Tony's with Patti LuPone as Reno. And the differences there, were: a) it just seemed like Patti LuPone in a sailor suit singing like...herself instead of a character, and trying to dance, and b) she sat out the dance break and rejoined at the end for some Irishes and some easy turns, whereas Sutton does the ENTIRE number and still has breath to sing. While I sometimes think "enough is enough" with the praise heaped upon the talented Foster, this aspect has impressed me from the promo numbers leading up to, and airing on, this year's Tony's, and seeing her live in the role last week. In the 1988 clip there was some challenging choreography for the chorus in that number, but LuPone just stood in the back and sort of smiled and marched until it was here time to pirouette through the center, to end it.

Kathleen Marshall's choreography and production wins in all cases. But Tari Kelly seems quite up to par now that she's part of it! Congrats to her!

Was out of the show tonite! Got a back spasm during the matinee in the middle of the tap break. Hoping to be back soon.

I'm upset, i have tickets for today's matinee and i was really looking foreword to seeing her. I'm hoping I'll be able to change the tickets to a different date and see it before I have to go back to university.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Kelly step into the role at the 07/30/2011 evening performance. I was very disappointed when I arrived at the theatre and learned Sutton Foster would not be performing but by the end of the outstanding Act I finale, that disappointment was long forgotten. Everything about Kelly's performance was top rate and yes, she did remind me of a younger Christine Baranski--both in appearance and mannerisms. Bravo, Tari Kelly!

I'm glad to hear Tari Kelly is good, I am still hoping Sutton Foster will be back on by Wednesday night thou. If anyone goes tomorrow night please post of she was on or not.
