ugh, i cant believe it says movin out is leaving just for tarzan. why not switch theatres or something? oy!

If they set a date - that means they found their Tarzan. Wonder who he is...?

Actually maybe they haven't. They set opening for the last day of Tony eligibility for this season and previews don't start for six months. I've seen several shows in the past secure a theatre and announce an opening date without having fully secured the full cast yet. I know there was another open call fairly recently. Perhaps, they've narrowed it down to handful of choices. It's all up to Phil Collins apparently, who rejected every candidate in the last set of callbacks a few months ago (none of them apparently sounded enough like him).

There is a rumor, now this is only a rumor, mind you, and not something to dress up and take to Church to get married...
But the word on the street (somewhere between Bleeker and Houston) is that, I know it may be hard to conceive at first, but you have to realize this is a show for a matinee idol and I mean IDOL for teenage girls to shriek and tear their hair over...
So don't say I passed on this sizzler, but...
ORLANDO BLOOM
is rumored to have appeared outside and entered the audition building, at least for the costume audition, and he's SHAVED that scruff off his face (thank heavens) and he has his long blond Legolas hair back (he even curled it) and so the rumor is...
that Orlando's yodel will soon be tested for Tarzan...
and that he has begun singing lessons in his bathroom with a topnotch New York vocal instructor....

The second rumor...and I really shouldn't pass this on because it was almost told to me in strictest confidence (with one loophole) and so PLEASE don't tell anyone but I had to share because I made the confidant sign a proviso that I could post on only very topnotch utterly confidential message boards...
is that the actor will have four personal attendants with professional curling irons at different locations in the catwalks such that after every time he takes a swing---
and the tresses go flying---
they will be there to quickly primp him back into shape.
The fans want their Tarzan looking perfect.
Disney knows.

Well the rumor on the board threads last night was that this Matthew James Morrison, whom I have never met, has curly hair.
And then the issue was expanded to do curly-haired men need Broadway?
And well, I think they raised a good point.
I mean Broadway may need curly-haired men more than vice versa.
So there's something to put in your cud and chew on.

Wow, previews beging pretty early. Or at least it seems that way. So they're going with now out of town try-out? Maybe its too hard to put up the set and the wiring and all and the move it? Seems risky to not to do an out of town try out? Maybe that's the reason for the extended previews.

Supposedly this rumor was sent via telegraph by the attendant in the ladies washroom of the New Amsterdam Theatre to the attendant in the mens washroom at the Ahamanson Theatre in L.A. and then by carrier pidgin relay, cross-country back to the stage door of the Lucille Lortel (pidgin got lost looking for Lilac Choclatier) and the message tied to the pidgin's right food conveyed the astounding almost-a-fact that

did not pass the costume test for Tarzan because the decision was that he was a film actor and could not be "big enough" for Tarzan on the stage.
