If you want hardcore riffing, see Shoshana Bean.

Her voice is a freak of nature, in a good way of course.

We now return to our regularly scheduled topic, already in progress:

On the OBCR of "In The Heights" during '96,000' Karen Olivo sings an amazing riff:
"I'll be down tow oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh wn"

Julie Reiber in Wicked has some great riffs. Nothing like Eden Espinosa or Shoshana Bean but still good.

Don't believe everything that you hear! Only the peeps involved know the truth!

UGH. I hate when people try to be clever and always put up the same pictures.

I Love Scott Alans Music because he always riffs when he sings so its easily written into his songs....Tasty

The only Riff on Broadway EVER should be the one in West Side Story.

Simone in Aida! now that was amazing!

YES.

Shoshana Bean's 'Ain't No Way' is stunning.

I wasn't aware she could sing in the 'whistle register' till I heard that song.

The studio recorded version of that is on her myspace page.

Plus, the 'climax' of that song is sung with a lot more ease than some recordings of her doing Defying Gravity when she just goes insane, again in a good way.

It's hard for me to imagine anything else beating out Darlene Love's "I Know Where I've Been."

Billy Porter always goes overboard with riffs.

White boys from the HAIR BCEFA cd is riff heaven. Shoshana Bean is a riffing queen. Natalie weiss has amahzing clarity in her riffs. Like you can hear every single note pristenely (sp.?) Jennifer Hudsons And I Am Telling You has some very nice riffs as well. I love Billy Porters On the Corner of Broadway and Soul CD cus every song has at least 10 riffs in it. Check out the broadway boys (freakish riffing with harmonies!!!) on youtube with danny Calvert (riffer madness (which should totes be an actual disease)) OOo and Titus Burgess has amahzing riffs in the Little Mermaid (not so much on the cd but in the youtube vids) and Jersey Boys cd. I love riffs!
