Taye and Idina given the all clear

Good morning kids! I was perusing IMDB, and this little blurb was in their news section for today. Just thought some folks around here might care to hear this:)

"Actor Taye Diggs and his wife, Tony award winner Idina Menzel, have been given the all clear by police investigating their racist hate-mail claims. The Brown Sugar star contacted the authorities when he started receiving nasty letters from those who disapproved of his mixed race marriage. A relieved Diggs says, "I guess the police have located this guy and they said he's never caused physical harm to anybody, he just writes crazy letters." Both Diggs and Menzel are set to reprise their roles in the film adaptation of Broadway hit Rent."

He may never cause physical harm, but the psychological damage can be long lasting. I hope they make an example of him - they have effectively been held prisoner by this situation, and people need to know it is NOT allowable - especially when based on vile hatred and bigotry like this was.

DGrant, you're assuming that the people who commit these kind of acts are thinking, reasoning beings. I don't believe that to be the case.

That was pretty scary, I'm glad it's over. It might still be a bit frightening for them but at least the guy has been caught.

I already said I was sorry for writing the damned thing. I've turned over a new leaf and have seen the error of my ways. I am now joining forces with Kristin on our Christian crusade.

It was back in early December when Idina and Taye were threatened BUT the person that sent the notes was just caught. It was old news but when you find the person that threatened to castrate (sp?) Taye and burn down the Gershwin, and you catch that person, it's not just 'old news' anymore...

Good. No one deserves that stuff.
