Caught the first part of this tonight at St Ann's. WOOO what a blast, 3 hours of craziness, it was like living in a Taylor Mac funhouse for an evening, ping pong balls, root beer, patriotism, a choir, apples, drinking songs, a tuba, lots of audience participation, this is one not to miss!

I agree it was amazing, there was also a surprise Mandy Patinkin cameo that I think was not planned because Taylor just called random people up to the stage

I keep debating on the 24 hour concert. It is just so hard to wrap my head around what that would feel like.... like, what will hour 19 be like?! Plus, since I no longer live in NYC and will have work the next day, I'd still need to get home then.... Hmm...

I was finally able to catch an installment of this last night- 1866-1896. What an incredible event it was! A lesbian acrobatic troupe, a blacklit, dayglo production of The Mikado set on Mars to illustrate the Orientalism and class divisions of the Gilded Age, a recreation of the Oklahoma land grab with balloons, and of course, Taylor Mac in jawdropping outfits and in fantastic voice.
There are only five performances left before the marathon (with 1956-1986 performed twice). They've all been available on TodayTix thus far and I really encourage people to check it out.

I'm so sad I didn't plan better for this. All I've heard are raves. I want to go to the marathon on Saturday but definitely don't have $600 to spend on a ticket. Anyone think this will have a life after this run?

I'm sure Taylor will do it again, or portions of it again.

I've put up 12 photographs from most of his segments, from 1776 to 1986
