Telecharge: Exchanging tickets

You would have to talk to a Telecharge agent because this sounds like a unique case that is handled person-by-person.

Technically, you are requesting a refund in that they would have to charge back your card for the ticket amount before you buy at the new price. While the system may be able to handle a 1:1 exchange (like during COVID), it’s also so archaic and creaky that anything else would be a problem.

Call them up and good luck.

Side Note: I’m really upset that Telecharge did away with their post-COVID ability to exchange tickets once for free, no questions asked and without having to call them. Yes, I understand it was limited and rose out as the result of the pandemic, but I feel like if they learned to have ticket flexibility (even if it means you are allowed exchange for a new date up to 4 weeks later), you would have much happier customers.

Thanks for the valuable info. The one time I did the exchange, I did exactly what you described: Called Telecharge, the phone agent immediately indicated no problem, just buy the new tickets and we'll cancel the old ones. But really glad to hear that you had success in purchasing new, better seats for less money using a discount code. And yeah, I would bet that repurchasing the exact same seats at a lower price was a big-time fluke, glad you were able to pull it off.
