THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON + GIRL, INTERRUPTED - Transfer Chances

I saw Girl Interrupted last week, and I’d put its transfer chances below those of Goddess (and that hasn’t gone anywhere).

Caps in theaters

A definite trend that I noticed on this theater trip is audience members not removing their baseball caps. Last night at the Hayes, I counted six people (5 men, 1 woman) in just my row and the row in front of me who kept their caps on throughout the show. It doesn’t necessarily block views (although I did ask one person at a show last week to remove theirs, since they were wearing it with the bill pointed up and it did interfere with sightlines…they looked at me like I was n

KENREX - Previews & Reviews 4/26 (Lucille Lortel Theatre, Off-Broadway)

Just want to take a beat to thank posters on this thread for alerting me to this show, which otherwise might have flown under my radar but turned out to be the high point of an 18-show trip. Absolutely extraordinary performance and production. (Now if only they could fix the horrific sightlines at the Lortel.)

New Billy Crystal one man show inspired by loss of his home in California wildfires to premiere at the Shubert in October

I saw the last of five "readings" of this today - actually a full performance, with Billy only occasionally looking at the teleprompters on the stage. It was a thrill to see him workshop this material in such an intimate setting, including a warm Q&A afterwards. Marc Shaiman provided live keyboard accompaniment, as they're apparently testing out the music cues to use during certain scenes. The play, as previously described, is ostensibly about the loss of his Pacific Palisad

LCT's MAN OF LA MANCHA Concert

I was there last night and will share my thoughts here for those who are interested.

It was a concert production, with the 17-piece orchestra (under Ted Sperling's direction) at the rear of the Beaumont stage, a line of chairs on either side for the performers, and a back wall that was effectively used for projections of the prison, the inn, the courtyard, etc. There was no other set; in place of the usual drawbridge, Cervantes and Sancho made their final exits up the aud

White Dreamgirls Canceled

"Circumstances completely outside our control"? Uh, no.

700 Sundays came to LA for two months after its initial Broadway run, and given the subject matter I can't imagine that this doesn't follow a similar trajectory.

Five readings of this are being presented at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, tonight through Monday at 7 pm and Tuesday at 2 pm. Roundabout subscribers received an email invite; I'm not sure who else lucked out. All dates are now filled, but maybe there will be cancellation lines? Run time is listed as approximately 100 minutes with no intermission. I'm going on Tuesday and will report back (to the extent allowed).

11 Days, 18 Shows

So excited for this trip! Started last night with Fallen Angels; unfortunately, it was probably a mistake to schedule a show a few hours after a long trans-Atlantic flight, since my brain was a bit too foggy and sleep-deprived to keep pace with the rapid-fire dialogue. I still really enjoyed the women's performances, and am looking forward to catching what I missed on the BroadwayHD livestream next month. The next 10 days include Proof, Fear of 13, Ever

Woman Of The Year Revival Anyone ???

I saw a one-night concert performance of this at the Broad Stage in LA last fall as a benefit for The Foundation for New American Musicals, with Sandy Bainum, Norm Lewis, Jason Graae, and Vicki Lewis. I had seen the OBC and remembered enjoying it quite a lot, but it just hasn’t held up well at all. A couple of good Kander & Ebb songs (hearing Norm sing “Sometimes a Day Goes By” was the highlight), but a lot more mediocre ones, and the book is remarkably thin and unf

Subscription off or on Broadway

Roundabout’s 2026-27 season looks exceptional. I’ve subscribed for a few years even though I live in LA and only get to NY 2-3 times a year. I get my choice of seats and even if I only make it to 2 shows a year the subscription pays for itself. And I sell the tix I can’t use on the Theatr app.

"MASTER HAROLD"...AND THE BOYS at Geffen Playhouse

If you're in LA before May 10, do yourself a favor and don't miss this outstanding production, which is one of the best things I've ever seen at the Geffen. Athol Fugard's play is, sadly, every bit as timely and powerful as when I saw the original Broadway production in 1982. 82-year-old Tony-winning South African actor/playwright/activist John Kani, who worked with Fugard and who played Willie in the 1985 TV adaptation with Matthew Broderick and Zakes Mokae, gives a

Facing the stage, so not worth it

Jordan, I did a literal spit take on that one. Well done.

Kara Young is a pretty glaring omission.

LCT's MAN OF LA MANCHA Concert

If you go to Telecharge and searched for it, it was there and I was very easily able to purchase seats. Not sure if this is a loop hole or what, but hey, it's there!

You are a superhero! I’ve been checking the LCT website every day for a month and even called them today, and never would have thought to check Telecharge. Of course now kicking myself and wondering what would have been available if I had only known sooner…but I’ll be there! Thank you!

LCT's MAN OF LA MANCHA Concert

Mickey3309 said: "Article says show only tickets are on sale but I don't see an option to buy show only on the website. Anyone have any info?"

The article is wrong. I called LCT today and they said show-only tix will go on sale to members in the next few days, and to the general public at some time after that if there’s anything left (which the person I spoke with seemed doubtful about).

LCT's MAN OF LA MANCHA Concert

Full cast announced, including Lindsay Mendez, Patrick Page, Bonnie Milligan, Harvey Guillen, Phillip Boykin, and more. This should be wonderful. They're still selling only the benefit tickets, but I hear that show-only tickets will go on sale to LCT subscribers in the next few days (and after that to the general public, if there's any inventory left). If there are any LCT members on here who aren't planning or able to go and would be willing to purchase tickets for me, please message me!
