Yay! Actually, I JUST had a long conversation with someone who went there. Granted, she graduated 8 years ago but she told me a ton of good information about it so post here or you are welcome to pm me about it.

Their website dosn't tell you anything but I was on CCM's website (which is amazing) and they have all these quotes about the program and there was one that said " CCM and The Boston Conservatory are the two best programs for musical theatre in the country" I paraphrase but I think it was a quote from a new york agent book and it is based of the number of working graduates in Actor's equity. So I guess it's pretty darn good.
I went to TBC (musical theatre) for two years then transfered to CCM where I finished....drop me an email if you have any questions! Go to CCM!!!
Oh Kiiiiiiiiiim. It's a school that teaches you to sing, dance and act. Fun fun fun!

Well....I just know that this will sway your decision...Constantine Maroulis of American Idol fame went to BOCO...he graduated in 2002. hahahaha

Lol. Well, that certainly does make a difference.
But if you're trying to decide between CCM and TBC, I've heard that NY is swaying towards people from CCM lately, not that people from TBC aren't working or anything.
I've known some incredibly talented people who have gone to and come from Boston Conservatory. I also know a person or two who left the school, saying that the musical theatre program had gone way downhill under whoever had just taken over as the head. Now that situation might have been temporary, or it might not have been the case to begin with. Just what I heard from some folks about 15 months ago.

thanks for all of your comments! sorry it took so long for me to get back to all of you but I have been incredibly busy lately. You guys are awesome.. all except that one Brandon Ivie guy... ugh. haha
As with anything, it is what you make of it. I have performed with people from CCM and BoCo. The talent level at both is extremely varied. And your own abilities to learn and grow will be affected as well. Speak to the teachers. See what kind of impression they make upon you.
I went to a graduate school with very little national recognition and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat, it was just that good.
So recognition means little if you're not going to have a connection with the people teaching you.

That's so great that BC and CMM "think" they are the two best programs.
No truth in advertising.
hey,
I have friends from both schools. This news is 2 years old but I believe you can tell about the quality of the education by how many people make it to the end. I know that CCM cuts about 1/2 their class through the four years, in fact, some of their students who feel they might be cut transfer to boco.
I heard that some people from Boco who get cut simply appeal and get back in AND that their facilites are not in the best shape. Also, the cost of living in Boston is far higher than that of Cincinnati. I also believe that the # of agents that attend the CCM showcase is higher than Boco. AND Boco did not let COnstantine do the showcase because he flunked a class...lol.
thanks again.. the only thing is that I'm not trying to decide between CCM and Boco because I didn't even audition for CCM, I just don't know that much about BoCO. I was more trying to decide whether I wanted to take a year off and audition for more schools for next fall or if I wanted to go to BoCo at least this year and then I can always transfer; or if I like it stay there. It's past the deadline for BoCo so I am going, but I just wanted to know all of your opinions about it.
