On why he refused to go on the High School Musical tour:
“If I had to hear the High School Musical songs anymore, I probably would have jumped off something very tall.”

On not being allowed to sing in High School Musical:
“I didn’t even sing on the first album. It wasn’t my voice in the movie. Even though I wanted to do it. So what do you do when the entire cast is supposed to accept an award at the Billboard Awards and your voice is only on the album in a select few lines. I felt extremely guilty.”

On fame:
"A lot of problems you se people having in this business is that it becomes about their personal lives and not about their work. Matthew McConaughey has single-handedly funded the tabloid magazines for the past two years now. If he would put on a shirt and just get away from the beach, maybe there would be a few less paparazzi around.”

On the silver “commitment” ring he wears:
“I’m not even going to say who it’s from. This is just a ring from a friend that I got. ‘Commitment’ is way too weird a word for me right now. I’m wearing it for a friend…It is a female friend, but I can’t say who, because then it would be chat-room pandemonium and teenage magazine-hysteria.”

On criticism:
“I can’t even go on IMDB because I know that so much of it would be negative. It’s just depressing. I know, for instance, at my cousin’s school, there’s a club called the I Hate Zac Efron Club. And I laughed hysterically when I heard that. I laughed because if there are people out there devoted enough to make a club that hates me, I’ve gotta be doing something right.”

I'm glad he was able to sing on the Hairspray soundtrack as well as in the sequel to High School Musical. I like Zac's voice much better than the guy who did the voice for the 1st one.

*sigh* He makes me feel like I'm 15 again. Definition of a dreamboat, I'm tellin' you.

ah.

yes, I have.

pretty velveeta- but there is some nice lil moments on it. But the songs were all cleary written to be singles.


I enjoy the song Humuhumunukunukua'Pua'A. It just demands to be animated.

it took me one listen to sing it verbatim.

I love hawaiin songs- so it was kinda easy for me to remember the words and pronounce them.

i agree with you on the velveeta-ness, mateo. however, i know i'll be humming some of the songs for a while.

zac's voice in "gotta go my own way" sort of reminds me of adam pascal's voice as roger in RENT.

Haven't heard any songs in their entirit yet, but as a whole , it doesn't sound as strong/memorable like the orignal. Do y'all think high school musical 2 will be a flop like Grease 2 was?

FYI- I like Zac better with dark hair too; he looks older with darker hair and it makes his eyes stand out more, unless those were contacts in Hairspray. However, he looks very sexy on that cover.:)

*Sighs* I am tired of hiding how I feel and who I am. I'm coming out of the closet (yet again).
My name is Bethy, I'm 18 years old and I hate High School Musical. But damn it all and blame it on (the amazing, wonderful) movie Hairspray, but...I love Zac Efron.
His voice is wonderful, he's a great dancer, and let's just face it, he's as beautiful as a Greek God.
