This post amused me greatly. I was laughing to myself in the library.
Yes, Idina has a giant mouth, but I agree with whomever brought up Jennifer Holiday. Love her, but dang ! Does anyone remember the Tony's a few years ago, I think it was the 1998 awards, where she, Betty Buckley and Patty Lupone, along with Rosie O as the host, sang together ? Jennifer sang "And I Am Telling You", of course and on the last note, "Me !", she made this absolutely horrifying face. Her eyes looked like they were gonna bug out of her head. It was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my young life. I swear, I'm going to use that footage when I have kids to punish them when they misbehave.

Yea it's weird
But just on the other hand... I would like to mention that it still bothers me where the mics are placed. I just think it looks funny, and I still can't get over it

I'll bet that some old timer coached Idina in her hand movements. They seem exactly like those used by Fannie Brice when she sang SECOND HAND ROSE and MODERNISTIC MOE. What a tribute from a contemporary singer to one of the great comics of a bygone era!
