i disagree with all of the other people. The story isn't as complex as they make it out to be. Go see the show and listen to the lyrics. I saw it without knowing the entire story and I knew exactly what was going on. Its very cryptic and suspenseful, and its awesome!

Sweeny Todd, I’m not going to lie its kind of freaky. I can tell you some parts that you might not like
Sweeny Todd slices up a fellow barber. He puts him in a chest. Which later Joanna hides away in.
Sweeny Todd slits several men's throats. You see blood at the neck, but not gushing everywhere.
You see towns people eating the meet pies. (meet=people)
A petrified boy is locked away in the basement where the pies are made. A body falls down the chute and he

i saw Movin' Out twice and it was totally awesome. I went with my friend Kim last time and it was better than the first. We're going for the final performance and we're totally syked! The CD is running in my player 24/7. So yea Movin' out fan club, hell yea!

The cast is incredible, the songs are too, costumes creative, and the storyline well its not that good.
