I am thrilled to see so many people finally coming around to agreeing with my postings in Sept. At that time, a few people attacked me as being on the LSOH payroll because I had great praise for the show. The word of mouth has taken hold and tickets are now on sale through Feb and are averaging 70% capacity with little or no advertising yet. Little Shop will eventually keep running with its nice advance sales and about 125,00 per day according to recent articles. The 9 great revioews didnt hurt either. It is by far the most fun show this season and will follow in the path of Smokey Joe...at the same theater too!!!!

Borders said they put it on shelves tomorrow in Ohio, so maybe Maryland will have it.
Yay! LouW95 is back with another posting about (surprise, surprise) LSOH.
Now why on earth would anyone think that you're on their payroll?
The nerve!

Lou r u clueless? the AMAZING LSOH needs to do better than 70%, and it's had plenty of advertising and it's on TKTS EVERY NIGHT!, a good cd yes, a long running HIT,NO!

I am guessing that that you have not seen any other production of LSOH since this version is extremely lifeless and flat.. We don't care at all for her Audrey and therefore even the very good jokes fail... Okay it has a great effect with the plant at the end but next to nothing else... I have seen so much better in small local productions.
Really disappointed with the show.
Jon - I don't know where you live in suburban MD, but usually the Tower Records on Rockville Pike has new musical releases. I have been longing to get over there but haven't had the time. Hope this helps.

Rockville Pike? Where is that?
Well, I have to say that I have seen other productions of LSOH, since it is one my of my all time favorite shows, and I happen to adore Kerry Butler's performance. Initially, I thought she had a little more work to do, but overall she was great. I went back on Friday evening, and she was better than when I saw her before. Her performance is not lifeless or flat. I have seen a few Audreys all trying to imitate Ellen Greene, and I hated it. Kerry is the only Audrey I have seen that has tried to do something different with her take on the role, and that I appreciate. It is still a great production, and I wish it well. The CD doesn't capture the magic that happens on the stage either..although it is a great cd.

I just had Borders put a copy on hold for me...they have 4 copies.
Well gee, I'm *convinced* that Lou's geniune now. Pa-leese! I couldn't agree with Jerzegal and Leeinlondon more. I'm not going to go into what I think about the CD, let's just say, you wouldn't want to "A,B" it to the original.

My cousin Gabby was a better Audrey in her jr. high school production, you guys would buy snake oil out of the back of a pick-up truck. I don't understand the shills, you'll learn come soon enough.
Jerzegal, there is no need for you to be rude. There is a thing called OPINIONS. People are entitled to them. You may not agree with them, and that's your problem. But reprimanding, and berating others for sharing their honest opinions is rude and ignorant. Have a good day.
Cheers,
The Balladeer
You're right Ball, we're all entitled to our opinions BUT...Jerzegal happens to be right too. She just didn't cover her *opinion* in honey.
Yeah, she can be harsh on the show if she wants to, that's her perogative....oh god....I am sounding like Bobby Brown....YUCK YUCK YUCK! But anyway, calling others "shills" and insulting them for their opinion, just because they didn't happen to agree is not cool. That is what I have the problem with, Al.
Cheers,
The Balladeer
you're right about that too Ball but you also must admit, it's very "fishy" that whenever a show goes into previews, we have a sudden influx of new posters effusively praising said show.

I just got the CD and I love it!! Kerry sounds awesome (better than on the Hairspray recording, I think...maybe cause she is on it more) along with the rest of the cast. This is my new favorite show!
