Well, I've never listened to the original. I've been meaning to, but that's another story.
Barbra Harris' gave a terrific performance. You only need to see her Tony performance to know, but I think musicals should be recorded as many times as possible. There needs to be records of them.
ESPECIALLY with a show like "The Apple Tree" that most people would typify as obscure and rarely done.

Posted: 12/14/06 at 8:47pmFrom my user name, I obviously appreciate Kristin Chenoweth's talent (though she is not my absolute favorite), but I happen to love the OBC recording with Barbara Harris. Nonetheless, I am really happy it will be recorded so I can hear Kristin do the songs.

I think it will just be great to have a 2nd disc of this show. I feel this production has given the show as a whole a negative view in some people's eyes. I think the production with transfer nicely to disc.

I still rather enjoy the originals
I cannot understand that their will be that huge of a market for a minor musical playing a very limited run but Lestat gets recorded but is not released. I dare say there might be more of a market for the latter IMO

Posted: 1/20/07 at 11:14amI was at an AT show in late December and there was a Q&A after the show. Someone asked about a Cast Recording. They said they are NOT currently planning a Cast Recording although they would love to do one.
