be careful how you put that bet, Horton, becuase what if the show gets a revival in 2050? THEN you'd be in trouble

Posted: 2/4/06 at 9:18pmI really hope this gets a revival, because then maybe the sheet music will be available. I can't find the original sheet music anywhere!

Barbara Harris' career after APPLE TREE only consisted of doing films for people like Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Altman and Francis Ford Coppola. More recent credits include "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and "Grosse Pointe Blank".

I've never been the biggest fan of The Apple Tree. I always thought they should've just taken the third act and turned it into a full musical.
That said, watching Chenoweth transform from a chimney sweep into a glamorous movie star would be delightful. Even so, I really don't think the show has the appeal to do well in a revival, even with big stars. It's just too odd a piece.

It is so out-dated, I dont think it will be done. If they re-do the book BIG TIME I can see it. One of the reasons its so forgotten is look at the other musicals that opended that year

"Let us make a deal, ok, I will never ever show my face on this board again if the revival of The Apple Tree is true, but you must leave if it isnt."
Does this mean you have to hold up your promise, Horton?

I remember seeing a very good production of "The Apple Tree" in NYC, at the York Theatre (back in '87).
It was a lot of fun, and the cast I saw was great!
