The Boy From OZ
The Boy From OZ#0
Posted: 6/16/04 at 10:38pmI have been addicted to this CD for a week now and am seeing the show soon, but I noticed that "She Loves To Hear The Music" sounds like it came right out of "A Chorus Line" . Did anyone else notice this?

Possible Spoiler --
Isn't this belter supposed to be "Liza with a Z" recreated ?
But you're right, the CD can be addictive - wait till you have seen the show and you can then put the songs in their proper context - the addiction becomes even worse

Posted: 6/17/04 at 12:41pmShe Loves to Hear the Music is one of my favorite numbers in the show... so freaky to watch. I just love when the ensemble goes "Liza! Liza! LIZA!!!!!" And then she goes "That's me!!" Woo!

I love to sing to the cd, especially "Not the Boy Next Door"
"I am not" (you are not) "I am not" (you are not) "The boy next dooooooor" and remembering how the audience participated in clapping for so long during "Quiet Please, There's a Lady On Stage." I can't wait to see the show again in July. Row AA wooo hooo, hello Hugh.

Yes, quite a number of songs to clap with, sing with, or dance to ![]()
But also quite a number which are good ballads to sing along with
...If you saw the movie The Wedding Planner, do you remember Bridget Wilson-Sampras singing the song I HONESTLY LOVE YOU with her fiance rather joyously - compared to the sad scene on the show?
My favourite is THE LIVES OF ME!

I have been walking with that CD in my CD player for over five months now. I switch now and then to another CD but always go back to Boy from Oz.
When I saw the show the second time then the music really fit in with the show. My favorite? RIO!!!!!!

Posted: 6/17/04 at 9:17pmI just sort of flipped through the songs when I borrowed it from a friend, and I really wasn't interested in anything I heard. Maybe I could give it a second listen.
