Last night a friend of mine and myself decided to do lottery for Wicked and Spelling bee because we really needed to see a show. obviously, we really wanted to see spelling bee because we've seen wicked a million times and spelling bee is the new obsessiong. well...piazza is my real obsession but i wanted to see spelling be just as much. we lost both lotteries...very upsetting. so we thought about going to see all shook up because my friend loves the show and he insists i will become obsessed after seeing it...thats to be seen. anyway, all of sudden i thought to myself...BROOKLYN IS CLOSING SOON AND I HAVENT SEEN IT YET!! my friend agreed to see it although he was less than enthused. of course rush tickets were available...its brooklyn! so, we are at the show and the theatre is FREEZING!!! The show starts and honestly i was not expecting much except the amazing voices from Eden and Ramona. UM OMG!!!!!! the show was going smoothly with nice and appriate power punches all the way up Once Upon a Time...YIKES THE TRAMP CAN SING HER BUT OFF!! honestly i am not going to tell about the entire show. the bottom line was that despite the actual plot and such the show is still a success. The CAST makes it a success! EDEN ESPINOSA AND RAMONA KELLER make it a success! i am so happy i went to see the show because it was pure entertainment. you have to admit, those outfits are fabulous! they deserved a tony nom for atleast the costumes! if i can offer any advise to anyone...go see this show! its worth atleast one more visit! because no matter what you may think about the initial show, its the voices that count! and you really wont find voices quite like that anywhere else on broadway...not the kind of voices that stop a show!

I was one of the few frequent posters on this Board who didnt hate BKLYN. I think with any other cast changes, it wouldve fallen apart totally because the OBC was brilliant.

Brooklyn does have the most amazing voices on or off Broadway.

"...has the most amazing voices on or off broadway"

yea, maybe, but the worst acting, design, direction and EVERYTHING else. If you want to see amazing Human Instruments with absolutely no meaning behind it, find a friend who tivo's American Idol. This crap does not belong on Broadway.

"yeah lee summer covered for the part of Taylor Collins. amazing show!"

Hi Soulman, just a small correction--it's Lee Morgan who has been playing Taylor Collins in Brooklyn, since March. He originated the role in the Denver production, and he is indeed a very talented actor and singer.

I have to say that I've noticed that any time someone posts on the board about actually (God forbid!) enjoying or appreciating or being entertained by Brooklyn, the same handful of destructive people leap in quickly to make a "clever" nasty or insulting comment. It's just so old, and so unpleasant. And probably bad karma.

I was also given scars from the screaming and bad(imo) musical phrasing.

"By the end of the show I was covered with claw marks..... and they were self inflicted" Okay, so Mario Cantone said that about Cats, but I feel it applies to Brooklyn as well.
