Hi!
For those whove seen the show...Song for the lonely closes act 1? It sounds like a good choice regarding the arrangements on the cd...also...is Emily Skinner playing Lucille Ball??? She sings the hell out of Heart of stone to be impersonating Lucy who had an Elaine Strichs kind of a voice...whats the scene about?

Emily Skinner as Lucille Ball in “Heart of Stone” — she sings this after she gives Cher career advice on transitioning as a major solo artist after leaving Sonny (as she did when she divorced Desi Arnaz). Sadly, Emily made no effort in capturing Lucille Ball’s famous husky/smoky/raspy voice but chose to do a loud brassy broad interpretation.

I have a question too. Is “Lee” a real person, or is he a composite of many people who assisted and stood by her? When Cher says there will be lots of personnel changes Lee asks if that means him too. Cher says no, telling him, “Your kindness over the years has. Not. Gone. Unnoticed.” illustrating her loyalty to those who have helped her.

Not sure but I did look up that Cher has had the same assistant (named Jen) for the last 25+ years. So Lee might be an omage to Jen as well as past assistants before her.
