Not sure whether asking this on opening night was the best move, since that can always affect rush....
But the Rush Report has had people queued up early for this one: http://www.broadwayspotted.com/rush-report-12615/

I was inquiring about tickets in general, not for opening night lol I know I would have never been able to get tickets for opening night lol
Do you know where the seats are usually located?
No, but the issue is that opening night puts a show on more people's radars, especially if the reviews are good. So, if people were lining up at 8 am during previews, it can move to 7 after opening, etc. So the point was that whatever was a safe time last week may no longer be one this week...

so where are rush seat usually located?
I swung by after rush was sold out on Wednesday. They gave me a side orchestra partial view seat for $59 (either row G or H on the audience's right). It ended up being a good view.

If anyone is up and thinking about rushing this morning, there are only 8 people here right now (7:30). The first people arrived at 5:45. Will report back later.
8:30 update: There are about 30 people here. Line was pretty short until about 8:00, then it became crowded quickly.
If anyone's rushung right now, I'm 3rd in line in the leather jacket. Come say hi!

If you were looking to come today, you've missed your window. At least 30 people here with 1.5 hours to go

Yikes, how long until the second people showed?! These are just PV, not front row or anything, no?

My very rough estimate is around ~70-80 people here as of box office opening.

Wow, 10th in line for me mezzanine partial view. I was under the impression there were box/partial view orchestra to be had at one point. Maybe they're doing good business.

They seem to be. I just bought a ticket for my mom for Friday. Orchestra seats were pretty slim pickings. When I had bought my preview ticket for last weekend (although a little farther in advance) the seating chart was wide open. Looks like with the positive reviews they're selling well. Good for them! Enjoy. I really loved this show.

They actually sold out the matinee, according to one of the box office workers. It appears they're doing VERY well. That's an incredibly fast turn around time from reviews to ticket sales response, so I imagine word of mouth is playing a role here too.

For those interested: I grabbed one of the last rush tickets for tonight ten minutes ago.

My friend and I were the second people. We showed up around 6:15. The "bubble" appeared to have been between 7:30 and 8:00, though of course we didn't poll everyone or stick around after getting our tickets. Our seats were PV in the boxes. Not a great view of the entire stage, but we saw enough of the staging to get the feel of the production, and plenty of facial expressions! I'm guessing they sell the boxes first, then mezz partials.

Bumping this thread...How has rush been lately?
Rushed Saturday 1/9. Got there at 8 AM, and there were already about 22 people in line. When it was my turn, the evening rush was sold out, and I got a seat in the rear of the box. The view was terrible at that angle with people's heads in front of you, so I moved down at intermission.
Sweet-thanks for the update! I'm hoping it dies down by March when I am in the city!

March is actually when the Broadway season starts to pick up. Especially considering Awards season will be starting. Best of luck though. It's a great show. They also have been doing Standing Room Only.
Don't kill my dream, Broadwaystar2!!! LOL I'll just plan on getting to the theater early to secure rush seats!

if you're so worried about it in advance why not just buy a ticket and guarantee a space...??
I'm a teacher and my teacher budget isn't very large...I rely on rush for most of the shows I see when I make my trip up there! If I could afford it, I'd buy all my tickets in advance! I'll keep my eyes peeled on the rush report and if it's still crazy these next couple of months, I'll buy one in advance. Thanks for the suggestion!
