The Effect @Barrow Street

i saw The Effect for the second time this weekend (first time being previews). Show is in great shape and very satisfying. There were a few slight changes to the staging. The blood draw was much less graphic (at least one person passed out early in the run). The cast is.very comfortable with each other as you would expect. I wonder if Susannah Flood will be in it much longer now that she's been cast in The Cherry Orchard.

According to the Post, James Franco was there this weekend. Saturday night?

Definitely one to check out if you haven't, especially since things are slow right now.

Oh wow, I saw this in London at the National with Billie Piper and really liked it. Didn't even realize it was now in New York.

I saw it a couple weeks ago. I liked it, but didn't love it. I didn't know much about it going in, except the basic topic of drug trials and anti-depressants. As I was watching it, I was disappointed that it ended up being a love story, but I guess that's my own fault for not reading more about the plot beforehand. The acting was strong. Particularly Susannah Flood, who I thought gave a beautifully understated performance.

Interesting topic, stuck in the oven at "potential." Very disappointing.
