The Ferryman seating question

Hi, I looked to see if this had been asked but couldn't find anything.

I'm currently looking into buying tickets for The Ferryman in June, and my wife and I typically like to buy premium seats for plays. When I looked at the seating chart, I noticed that there is a large chunk of regularly priced seats boxed in between a bunch of Premium Seats in the Center Orchestra (3rd and 4th rows).

Does anybody know why this is? Is there some sort of obstruction? Sorry if this has been asked/answered. If there's no obstruction or even a minor obstruction, I'm all for saving a couple hundred dollars. If there's something there that will greatly affect the experience then I'd rather just pay more or sit in the mezzanine. Thanks.

I sat in the sixth row, dead center. Perfect seats. Stage is at eye level with no obstructions.

I agree that you should go with cheaper seats. I actually sat very front row - and had the most thrilling experience. Have fun!

I’ve seen the show twice. Aisle row E orch right and aisle center orch row g. Views were fine from both, but legroom is tight. The man next to me was cramped bc he was 6’2”. Seats are narrow for heavy folks. Only thing I hated was cig smoking. Doesn’t matter if it’s herbal cigs. Folks with breathing problems have problems with the smoke be it herbs, tobacco, candles, etc. Front two rows r Very close to stage.

I rushed the show in early October and our seats were the last two on house right, about the fifth or sixth row, and we had a great view of about 95% of the stage, the only thing we missed was the higher edge of the staircase in the house set, all the way stage left.



I didn't realize until we were leaving the theater at the end that the staircase was probably 20 feet tall, but otherwise a great view.

Thank you for the insights. i figured on far right you might miss Aunt Pat but it makes sense that the upper staircase is blocked. great advice--as much as i loved row two i do believe a little distance by a couple of rows will help because the stage is so deep. but i agree a great show and i am looking forward to seeing it again in February.

Just saw this tonight. Do NOT sit in audience right the first 5 rows. The way the play is staged there is a chair placed near the edge of the stage blocking the view of pretty much everything Center stage. Especially when the actors sat in it. I knew my seat was limited view but it was pretty ridiculous. None the less, I enjoyed the show - I imagined it as a radio play at times :)

If you’re center aisle you’ll be great! Is it marked limited view?

We were Mezz Row D far house left-- none of the staging is obstructed although we couldn't see the window wall at all. The real issue is those mezzanine seats are hopeless when it comes to knee room, and I'm only 5'-5"! My husband had it really bad at 5'-10". Be forewarned!

I sat in row J orchestra center, and, if I had to choose, I would pick F 2-4, simply because I think the staging lends itself to being viewed from house right.

Ok, full disclosure I am a bit obsessive compulsive about things. So I have done a lot of research and after that I have no idea what to think. Is house left or right better? Depends on who answers. Some say don't sit on the right as there is a chair blocking the stage and others say left is the side to be on. I would assume row F seats 1&3 or seat 2&4 will be great.
