First show on broadawy was BIG at the Shubert in 96. I still LOVE that show to this day.

First Broadway play was "Fifth of July"--still have the Playbill and a note from Swoosie Kurtz paper-clipped to it. I'd written her a congratulatory note after she won the Tony.
I saw Christmas Carol, Bye Bye Birdie, and Cats in the same year (about 10-years-old) - but I'm not sure which one I saw first. hmmm
Outside of school productions, the first play I saw was "BENT" on Broadway with Richard Gere and the 1st Musical was "Purlie" on what was probably its 1st tour. my 1st musical on Broadway was "The Wiz" with the original cast.
