1972. Imperial Theatre on W. 45th Street. Original cast of PIPPIN. I was 7 years old. Started my passion for Bob Fosse and his work, plus that year was a HUGE year for him so he was EVERYWHERE in the media, which helped feed my Bob Fosse fire. CABARET was in the movies; LIZA WITH A "Z" was on TV and PIPPIN was on Broadway. That year was hell for my parents and my older sister.

I believe my first professional play was Broadway (Man, was I surprised that there was no music in it) at a local theatre, and my first professional musical was... it might've been Chicago, which was my first Broadway show as well.
My first opera was Tosca, I distinctly remember that.
First straight play I ever saw was the Crucible revival with Laura Liney and Liam Neeson. At least Laura was amazing!

My first straight play was the national tour of Dirty Blonde.
The first straight play I saw on Broadway was the recent revival of Noises Off with Patti LuPone. I loved it!!! Between Act II and Act III, the set broke so Patti came out and put on a ten minute concert for us accapella (sp?) while they fixed the set.

The first play I ever saw was called See How They Run, about a lot of mistaken identity at an English vicarage. The first musical I ever saw was Goldilocks, the Leroy Anderson musical, which I saw for my birthday, in 1958! My biggest memory of it was that it seemed to have lots of sets and lots of dancing.

The first live theater I ever saw was a children's theater production of either Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates or Peter Pan, I saw both, just don't remember which came first.
First Broadway Musical: Evita, original Broadway cast, except it was a Wed. matinee with my high school, so I didn't see Patti, she took those off.
First Broadway Play: Othello with James Earl Jones, Christopher Plummer and Dianne Weist.

My first play (that I recall, anyway) was a community theater production of THE VELVETEEN RABBIT. It was a third grade field trip.
