Just returned from Paradise, and what a trippy adventure it was...
I love immersive theater. Let me start there. Grand Paradise is the latest installment into the genre and it doesn't disappoint.
Interesting, immersive theater seems to be fueled by dance. Third Rail has its roots in dance and never is it more apparent than at The Grand Paradise. From disco to 70s lounges, the hotel seems to be filled with gorgeous young women and men seducing each other through movement. What fun! The evening is sensual and erotic. I felt utterly seduced throughout most of the evening.
Friday night, nobody by cast members were costumed. In fact, that more than anything created the distinction between who were audience and who were performers. I thought often that it would have been cool if I had dressed in a Hawaiian shirt. If I went again, I would dress the period.
As for tickets... I too kickstarted The Grand Paradise, and I too had my performances canceled. There was almost no issue exchanging them. Both Third Rail and the box office were considerate and extremely helpful.
