re: The Greatest Director of OUR Generation

How is this confusing. YankeeFan broke my clearly stated rules, only 2 directors can be mentioned; therefore, his names will be ignored. In this competition (once per day till 9:30 tonight), everyone is asked to name 2 directors. ONLY 2. In order to classify as OUR generation, the director (he or she) has to have directed at least 4 Broadway production past the year 1989. There have been some great suggestions, but they do not qualify. John Doyle has only directed 3 Broadway productions. The other non-included suggestions don't qualify (or the user broke the rules). YankeeFan is beyond welcome to list 2 qualify directors if he'd like to.

^ I would GLADLY do a non-broadway directors competition next... but I am just warning you, I have little knowledge of non-broadway directors.

Dear March Madness competitions,

It's not March anymore. This is getting ridiculous. Stop.

Please don't.

"but I am just warning you, I have little knowledge of non-broadway directors."

I don't think you had to warn all of us about that. Seems fairly evident. I'm with The Actr and PG2. This is a fail.

move on..

re: The Greatest Director of OUR Generation

I do not think Hal Prince should count. While he is easily one of the all time best and he did direct 4 productions past 1989 he has been around directing since the 60s and 70s. His work spans from last generation to this generation. It wouldn't make sense to call him one of the best of this generation when his work has been around since last.
