Does anyone have anything to report? I'm going to try for tomorrow's matinee - the boyfriend is jazzed up to see JC - but I'm not sure if we'll be able to show up until a little after 10.
Thanks!

Try googling The Rush Report -- it's part of bway spotted.
They use to run it every week, but I noticed it hasn't been as frequent.
Yesterday I got there at 2:30 or so amd got second row center. I thought they only gave out mezz or balcony, but I guess we were lucky!
Thank you both!

I rushed on December 27th, my friend and I walked up at about 6:00 and got 2 tickets in the orchestra for that evening's performance.
do they check both people for student ids if you buy two rush tickets?
No, they just checked my friend's ID and let us buy two tickets. We both look like students though.
The box office salesman only checked my ID, not my boyfriend's. I look really young (profile picture is Nov. 2010), but he does not.
Jessica Chastain should win some sort of special award for the courteousness she shows her fans. She went above and beyond the call of duty, interacting with fans, chatting up a storm and signing everything presented her, except in the case of one autograph whore who triple-dipped. She smiled at him and said "I already signed for you twice." I freakin' love her!
I asked her a couple of questions which prompted her to ask me if I was studying acting, and when I replied that I was she gave me considered, thoughtful advice. Among what she said was to keep on working as much as possible, even when I feel like important people aren't watching, because in her experience they often were, to her surprise.
How special - she was barraged by throngs of people, and still took time for meaningful conversation, as if it was just as important to her as it was to me. That reminds me of when I had a chance to talk with Marian Seldes in 2009, when I was too young to appreciate it to the degree I now do.
A man shouted out at her "You were better than Olivia!" and she replied to him that it was very kind of him to compliment her,
but that she greatly admires deHavilland's performance. She aced it! She managed to accept the compliment, but gently replace a put-down of another actress with reverence. Wow!
I understand other attendees' remarks about her vocal choices, but the performance was still electric and heartfelt. During her breakdown scene I heard a woman toward the front say, with a creak in her voice, "that's so sad!," several gasps from both genders, and I started to cry - and I only cry when acting is authentic and beyond the ordinary.
I would call this a 'can't miss' production.
Here is a woman who deserves all her success and is destined to go very far. I have never seen her perform at all until today, but will soon take a look at her film work.

Glad to hear such great things about such a talented actress. Where were your seats?
Orchestra Row G, extreme right side of the house (immediately facing stage left). There were a few obscured facial expressions, and the top of the staircase could not be seen, but it did not deter from the experience to any significant degree.

I am seeing "The Heiress" in February and am a huge fan of Jessica Chastain's films. I am glad to read you (and I guess all the fans at the stage door) had such a pleasant experience with her. I too hope to meet her that day. How many people do you think were there today and did she pose with fans for photos?
My friends' and my seats for Saturday's matinee were rows C and D, all the way over on the right of the house. I didn't find the view to be obstructed at all, other than seeing a lot of peoples' backs at times (but I think that's the staging more than my seat). Also, first/second row is great in that theater since the stage isn't too high. We got there around like 9:45-9:50.
There was a legion of people at the stage door, including autograph-fiend-hyenas, but she still posed for pictures when asked.
:)

When I stage doored back in November, there were only about twenty prople. I said to myself then, what a considerate indivual she is to her fans. Its nice to hear that as the crowds increased, she has kept on being that genuine and nice. I agree with Rudy totally. She is the sweetest and nicest to her fans.
