Posted: 8/15/10 at 11:40pmI saw this. I cringed. This was one of the worse Roasts Comedy Central has produced, despite Seth MacFarland doing a commendable job.

Whitney Cummings goes out for blood at these Roasts.
On Hulk Hogan "Your balls have less semen in them than Pam Anderson's mouth right now."
On Pam "You've slept with Bret Michaels, Tommy Lee & Kid Rock. Why don't you save some time & just drink a vat of Magic Johnson's blood."
Again to Hulk (directly after the AIDS joke): "Oh and Hulk, all the jokes I just said about Pam also apply to your daughter."

Hasselhoff joined J&H after he heard Colm Wilkinson sing "This is the Moment" on an airplane. He "had to sing it and follow his dream" -- thus, when the producers were looking for stunt casting, he approached them. Apparently he didn't ask for too much money salary wise, and even put some money into getting it filmed.
He was and still is a recognizable name... despite what some say on here. Talented? Well...
He actually has a CD coming out entitled "This Time Around" singing the songs of Frank Wildhorn (as of now - there may be some other familiar tunes in there), including new recordings of the songs "This is the Moment" (J&H), "This Time Around" (Havana, previously recorded for Linda Eder) and then some duets with people like Brandi Burkhardt. I don;t know when it's going to be released.
'This Time Around" is quite the song...his version is on you tube if you're curious!

Posted: 8/16/10 at 1:29amThe Hoff sings "This is the Moment" every chance he gets. I'm not very sure why, as it is never better than mediocre.

Posted: 8/16/10 at 1:51amI was thinking the same thing. The roasters aren't all that great this time around either. Pam Anderson's roast is indeed the best comedy central roast.

Lisa Lampenelli is funny the first time you see her material. I thought her Pamela Anderson Roast material was genius. But now it just seems like the same tired "I slept with a lot of black guys" crap.
I agree that Whitney Cummings' material was hysterical.

Posted: 8/16/10 at 10:18ambelieve me, nothing gives me greater pleasure than giggling at the musical stylings of David Hasselhoff in the filming of Jekyll and Hyde, but in the first 6 bars or so of the song on the roast I found myself thinking, "Damn, someone's been taking some lessons." Of course as the notes got higher, he began to make some horrendous vowel sounds among other issues, but he truly did sound pleasant and quite different than he did years ago.

Posted: 8/18/10 at 2:02pmYes, he's a triple threat: can't sing, dance, or act. He can't even move across the stage w/ any amount of grace. It is one of the great tragedies of theatre that the film version starred him instead of Robert Evan. But, Evan didn't pay for it & middle-aged woman in knitting clubs don't lust after him.

Posted: 8/18/10 at 2:13pmThe interesting thing about the Hoff is that he is an international icon and he really draws in huge international crowds. So in cities like NYC and Vegas, if he is on the marquee, he sells tickets and ALOT of them to international travelers. The man has charisma and old fashioned showbiz values. He has reinvented himself several times and will be a millionaire from residuals alone. I give him a ton of props.
