I first saw Kate Baldwin in 2008 as Amalia in the Huntington Theater's She Loves Me, and she was just wonderful. I actually think I liked her more than Laura Benanti, and I wish she could've played the role on Broadway. I've always felt like Baldwin was overshadowed by Benanti and Kelli O'Hara as a Broadway soprano, and I'm glad she's so loved in Hello, Dolly.
(She was also just lovely in Westport Country Playhouse's I Do! I Do! with Lewis Cleale a few years ago.)
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
