Posted: 8/31/09 at 9:36amWho did closing, Brian or Major? I know Major was scheduled to do Sunday, but I'm just wondering being Brian was an original cast member and did opening night.

I saw the last show and I didn't really know what to expect since I've only seen the show with the original cast. I was looking very forward to Chelsea, but she was terrible as Ariel. Her voice is so annoying and flat. She's got this weird tone to her voice whenever she sings like someone is pinching her nose and i didn't like that she rushed all her songs, especially during The World Sometimes she'll run on her feet in a way under the mermaid tail that just completely took me out of it. Sierra always moved in a way that you don't really pay attention to her feet, but Chelsea was like running and one point she even pulled up her mermaid skirt to run.
Faith Prince wasn't as bad as i thought she was going to be. She wasn't really singing, she kind of just talk sings her songs throughout, but she made it up with her acting. It was kind of hard to get used to the sing-talk when most of her songs are supposed to be belted.
The show overall, i still enjoyed it, but it was far from the original cast. They didn't make any speeches. It was a longer curtain call and the crowd was very responsive throughout the entire show and the stagedoor was crazy.
Very sad to see the show go, hopefully it will be revived with better direction in the future and i'll catch it on tour.

Posted: 8/31/09 at 8:19pmWe took my daughter to see it for the third time. She was very excited when she recognized and got Alan Menken's autograph at intermission. He was very friendly, even signed one kid's forehead (after making sure it was ok with the kid's mom).

Did anyone else go onto the official website of the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and see that: New production to be announced soon!
Could something take the place until the Addams Family? I know there was talk about Beauty and the beast. However, I just thought that the website would already say Addams Family because it was already announced.
