Yes, I saw JJ on November 3rd at the first preview and thought he was great. I saw Cody Hanford on November 29th and thought he was ok...

Singleton does have more experience, but seriously....with a role that size, no one is going to leave the show talking about howgood (or bad) the kid who played Flounder was.

Do the Flounders have a set performance schedule?

If they do, it's not listed in the Playbill or anywhere else that I can see. It just says, "Flounder at certain performances" for both of them.

I would guess at some point they would set a schedule.

Someone who seems really interested in the Flounders is trying to start a lasting thread on the subject...

re: The Little Mermaid tonight (12/1)

"Ursula still does the same now, except she's not as obvious with wanting the shell to save her life. Her death is a lot more dramatic than it was, too.

There aren't any really big changes to be honest. A couple of costumes have been re-designed, and I Want the Good Times Back now features more eels, but nothing really major has changed."

So what happens with her death now? Because when I saw it(the first preview in Denver) it was just Ariel smashing the shell, then Flotsam & Jetsam kinda wheeled her away...What all did they change there?

And...What do you mean "I Want the Good Times Back now features more eels?" Does that mean more of Flotsam & Jetsam (I'm hoping it's that one) or are there more eels than just those two?

There are about three "ensemble eels" with different costumes than Flotsom and Jetsom.

They did a lot of changes to the end, including Ursula going through a trap door to her demise instead of being wheeled away.

Let's face it- this show will either connect with its target audiences (families) or it won't...A pan from the NYT won't necessarily kill this show.

I bet that it does well.
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

Apparently Cody called out tonight so JJ went on again. Would this change their schedule for the week?

And I've seen both and I think I prefer Cody. JJ has a great voice but his acting does not come across. Cody isn't the best actor either, but they're kids and he does a great job and his singing is pretty good, just not my favorite. But overall, I'd pick Cody.
