Just received notification that HELLO, DOLLY! is the first theatrical casualty of the coronavirus. It played a few performances in Buffalo and is now officially finished.
Sorry you missed it Dollypop. I absolutely ADORED this touring production and so glad I got to see it three times (Cleveland 2X and Pittsburgh 1X). Still brings a smile to my heart when I think of the train coming on stage during Put on Your Sunday Clothes. Just pure and simple joy!
Sad. I saw the tour a year ago, shortly after it began, in San Francisco. What a delightful production. (With Betty Buckley and Lewis J Stadlen) I worked it for four weeks and probably saw it a dozen times. It was a joy.
It played Providence last week ( March 3-8) to great reviews. I guess that was it’s last full week? I didn’t see it since I saw it twice in NYC ( neither time with Midler) but friends of mine who did see it absolutely loved it.
Saw it with Ms. Buckley and it was one of the most joyous evenings of theatre I’ve experienced in a long while. I wish I could’ve seen it again with Ms. Carmello. Sad to see it meet this fate. What a wonderful production in every way.
