Read this this morning on the way to work and thought it was worth posting. It was in the Op-Ed page of the main section, so hopefully this information will reach more people than it would if it was in the Arts section.
What is the world coming to when the NY Times is against a new tax.

Kinda off topic, but I wanted to see Lewis Black next weekend in CA and when I checked Ticketmaster for Tickets, there was a convenience charge of $10.50 plus a "Building Facility Charge" of $3.50.
wtf is that? I understand Ticketmaster fees, but I've never heard of a 'Building Facility Charge'.
I said screw it and decided not to buy the tickets. That's like $14 on top of the ticket price. Crazy!

Thank God! It is great that the New York Time is supporting theater
You've never heard of a building facility charge? You've paid one every time you've been to a Broadway show. It's the facility fee. That money (supposedly) is used for the upkeep of the venue.
In your dreams. It goes right into the theater owners pocket.

Mr. Roxy is right!
Did ticketmaster up their fees? I swear it was $7 before or is it based on the state the venue is located in?
It certainly can vary.
And Frogs DID say supposedly.
