The show didn't even air yet. Why are we even contemplating a second season???

Look I don't like the idea either, but realisticly this show will probably do well and NBC is going to want to pursue their success with another show.
I was just curious to see what others shows could be possibilities. It would have to be a show everyone knew, and was familiar with or no one would watch it.
We might as well prepare ourselves for the next tragedy. It's the same as discussing which Disney film will make it to Broaway next.

I say this and ask again:

RENT is not dying and it is still on Broadway, so I show could not be made about it. The show involves a revival of a musical. They recently did "How do you solve a problem like Maria?" in the UK where they found the new Maria for the production of the Sound of Music. With rights and all, I don't know if this could happen in the US, but it would be a show they would try to bring back. They should bring back Guys and Dolls though...

I actually think Rent could work well, it just depends on whether they would be willing to try something new and cast for the current production.

yankee_fan907, you are obviously new to the boards.
I really would not like them to do this concept again.

Rent is dying? A show that's been on broadway for now over 10 years and still grossing an average of $440,000 a week... Don't think that's so shabby - not to mention it's averaging 78 percent capacity any given week. (all taken from bway grosses directly, it's not a guess).
It's not doing WICKED business - but considering it's more than paid back it's investors and the overhead is probably pretty low - the show is doing just fine.

I do not think RENT would do it. They already did a show kind of like that on Good Morning America a few years back.

I still say they will do "Any Dream Will Do: The Search for the Next Joseph and Narrator"

I'd watch a "Wedding Singer" one (for the Tour, of course). They could try to cast Robbie, Julia, Holly and Glen...it's a taught.
