I did a search and came up with nothing.
A friend of mine is seeing CHICAGO for the first time right after Brinkley leaves. She wants to know who's replacing her.
Does anyone here know?

Posted: 4/23/12 at 10:20pmYonekura will be the one-week "Roxie", apparently. Amra Wright will partner with her during that time. After May 6, AW will be the Chicago Tour's "Velma" during the L.A. and San Diego stops. I'm not sure who'll be the Broadway Velma after May 6th. My favorite is Terra C McLeod. As for the next Broadway Roxie after May 6th, it might be Pamela Anderson. from RC in Austin, Texas

Pamela Anderson? Are you kidding?
Ughhhh. Stunt casting.

Posted: 4/23/12 at 10:58pmYou mean...you didn't know? It was reported last week. Oh well.

Posted: 4/23/12 at 11:15pmWell, Pamela Anderson has had experience with singers...so maybe some of that has rubbed off on her? from RC in Austin, TX

also, according to telecharge, Tara C. MacLeod is the next Velma starting 5/7. No word in who the next Billy is though.
Tracy Shayne is Chicago's next Roxie

Posted: 4/25/12 at 12:39pmI adore Tracy Shayne. I'd love to see her in this. Haven't seen Chicago in YEARS. I may just have to go back. I'd rather she was Velma, though. (She strikes me as being more of a Velma.)

Posted: 4/25/12 at 12:42pmIMO - amazing to me this show is still running and has run so much longer than the original. They have done stunt casting for so long and it is embarassing when you put somebody like Christie Brinkley in a show when you know she can't handle the dancing unless it is changed.

Posted: 4/25/12 at 2:07pmI am familiar with Tracy Shayne, as she paired up with Terra C McLeod in last summer's "Chicago" tour. I saw them in Forth Worth and Houston in consecutive weekends. The Fort Worth stop was soo hot, that the stage door had to be moved indoors. Terra is FAbulous! from RC in Austin, TExas

Posted: 5/10/12 at 11:29pmI didn't know where else to ask this, but when Amra does the tour in Durnham would Terra come back for a week? Or would Donna and Nicole split the week?

Posted: 5/11/12 at 2:49amWow, I remember seeing Tracy Shayne as Christine in "Phantom" when I was a kid. I think I liked her, since I still remember the name years later. Good for her!

I was also surprised when I first discovered Shayne was currently playing Roxie. She's one of those performers whose names conjure wonderful memories and almost feel like family on name familiarity alone.
First heard of her when I saved my pennies as a kid to purchase the Complete Symphonic Recording of Les Miserables. It's amazing how ordinary things seem so majestic when you're a kid--I recall being absolutely mesmerized by the recording's gold and black packaging and the fact it was a symphonic orchestra playing that marvelous, iconic, irreplaceable John Cameron orchestration was almost too much to take for little me. I've since worn out three copies!
At any rate! Tracy was one of my earliest Cosettes thanks to that recording and I've always loved her in the role from that alone. I unfortunately have never seen her in the show proper. I never did agree with the popular opinion in Les Mis circles at the time that her Cosette was shrill and annoying. Her singing is spot on and her vibrato is as delicate yet strong like I imagine Cosette to be.
I can totally see her being an awesome Roxie. Will she be playing the role later this month when the tour hits Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre?
EDIT: Oops, of course she won't be playing Roxie cause Ms. Brinkley has been heavily promoted as playing the role here later this month. How could I forget that? I guess my reverie down Les Mis memory lane got me too happy and caused temporary retardation. Hate it when that happens.
