The Once Upon a Mattress Overture

Maybe this is common knowledge, but I've only recently discovered for myself that the "Overture" on the original Broadway cast recording of Once Upon a Mattress is actually the Entr'acte and I'm just curious if anyone knows why the creatives decided to do that. Has it ever been explained?

Probably because it's shorter. Like credits, the number of people that care is small.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
