...DO NOT READ FURTHER IN THIS THREAD IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANY MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE SHOW "THE PILLOWMAN!...
Okay, I doubt I'll be able to make it to see this show before it closes which is really, really despressing, but I want to know: Is Katurian guilty? Did he really commit the crimes hes being interroagted about?

He committed three murders -
His mother
His father
His brother
That's all.
As he said, he covered for his brother hoping they would save his stories with his case file.

Katurian's brother, Michal, committed the 2 murders. In a rather comedic moment, you find out the third never happened, and see the result of what did happen. However, Katurian didn't know this, so he killed Michal. Katurian also killed his parents. While he is not arrested for the murders based on the stories, he's arrested (and shot) for the murder of his brother and parents.
out of curiousity why do you think that Michael said he killed the girl when he didn't? my friend and i were debating that after we saw it and never really came to an agreement.
Maybe he knew that by admitting he hadn't killed the little girl, he would be admitting that at least one of Katurian's stories didn't cause him to do something bad. He had asserted that all the stories made people do sick things.
Just a guess...
overthemoo28- I thought Katurian doesn't like the Little Green Pig story very much (it's not really his style), and Michal didn't want Katurian to get mad at him. I guess. I think it's the weakest part of the play's plotting
I thought Katurian killed Michal more somewhat out of love than hate (though both were obviously important). It's obvious that Michal didn't have the mental capacity to realize the horrendous nature of his actions, and Katurian recognized that. I thought he killed him to save him from whatever awful things Ariel and Tupolski were going to do to him.

Somebody asked the same question to Michael Stuhlbarg and he responded that at the time he was mad at Katurian and wanted to get him back for hurting him. I thought that too during the show, but I still dont seem to have found a good answer as to why Michal told Katurian that he had told him to do it. The only sufficient answer I got was that when he read him the stories, he wanted to see if they were possible to do or that when being told these stories he thought he was telling him to do these things
Wonder if this will ever make it to the silver screen ? An HBO filming of it would be ideal but it ain't gonna happen.
