Posted: 8/25/09 at 1:45pmWas it a mid-performance replacement? The only times during the show I recall an ensemble puppeteer performing Rod in place of their principal puppeteer is during "Porn" and "For Now".

Posted: 8/25/09 at 1:47pmTimes are hard- it was either cut cast (and vowels) or accept corporate sponsorship. "The internet is for porn" was going to be sponsored by "BadPuppy." and "You can be as loud as the hell you want" by "Trojan.'

Why don't they just recycle the felt used to make the puppets?
That's gotta be worth some money.

Posted: 8/25/09 at 4:10pmAs said in my review thread, They are sharing because Rob got married this past weekend. Did this really need another thread? Also, Flip out much?

Posted: 8/25/09 at 9:13pmHe also missed some shows because he was finishing up the Producers in Philly. Maybe if, as BwayBoundJoe said, he just got married and probably had to miss some shows, between the two things they may have decided to list the alternate?

The alternate listing is only this week,(16th to the 23rd). So, yes, they printed all those playbills just for this week. Last Saturday (15th) there was no alternate listing...I was there. As I said in the other thread, Rob McClure got married on Sunday, and was out of the show Fri. to Mon. So, if this logic is all correct, the playbill should not list an alternate anymore. :)
Sorry if this came off a bit strong...

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought the OP just found out that the same person plays both Princeton and Rod.
Glad to see that wasn't the case.

As I have told BBJ before I really really hope its just because of the wedding.
I saw Seth go on for Nick Kohn and I just thought he was BAD...
I just hope McClure does the final show..
It would really bother me seeing Seth as Princeton/Rod in the final performance on broadway- ever

I thought the same thing SweetQinthelights! Haha.
And I have no inside information of course, but I'm pretty sure Rod will play Princeton/Rod in the final show. He's clearly the best performer for the role who's in the cast right now. The producers of the show knew what they were doing when they brought him in to close out the show strong. I can't fathom having someone as immensely talented as him sit in the wings on closing night while Seth goes on in his place. It ain't gonna happen.
Btw.. congrats to Rob on getting married. His wife is a VERY lucky woman!
