Warning.
We're about to enter "BRKLYN" shill zone soon.
It's already started on the other board where first time posters innocently ask about the show and then quote reviews from Colorado newspapers. That was the best laugh I've had in years! Did you know that peopel in their press office have been told to post?
And please have a little cheese with your "I love BRKLYN and I'll tell all" whine. TELLING the world is one thing..SELLING the world is another.

Ha ha! Good one,Mr. Tutle. I agree. Some of these shills are so obvious.
I'm such a valley boy about this. You mean people from publicity office actually come into these boards and post shills??
Please tell me you are not serious!
called show BUSINESS
But really, how big and vulnerable-to-selling-tactics is this board?

Ha--that's sooooooooooo funny. I never really noticed. People trying to "sell" a show? Wow. That's kind of sleezy. Do you really think they have an influence on the people of the message board?
We're about to enter "BRKLYN" shill zone soon
I thought we'd been in one for weeks already.....
Yes popculterboy, it has been weeks and it's quite disturbing. And no, as I've said hundereds of times, no amount of shilling on this board is going to translate in to ticket sales. It'll be the same 30 posters and 10 shills stirring up all the *excitement* about the show and Eden E. No one in middle America is going to make the trek to NYC because of what they've read here about Brooklyn, or any other show, *star*, etc... They don't care how awesome and amazing someone belts or how high the notes are, or how bitchy Menzel is at the stage door, or who's going to be the next Elphie, or what job Stephanie Block is getting after BFO, or how long All Shook Up is going to run, or what the true meaning behind the lyrics in Defying Gravity are, or how hot the chorus boys/understudy's are. Broadwayworld is just that, a universe all unto it's own. Believe it. Updated On: 8/31/04 at 08:46 AM
So what are you saying? Anyone with anything positive to say about a particular show is a shill? Should only nasty and negative comments about a show be encouraged? And what about those really nasty and negative comments anyway? Maybe they're being made by "shills" for other shows. Trying to take business away from a potential "hit" so as to drive up their own box office. Maybe we should all just be paranoid cynics and be suspect of anyone with anything positive to say about anything. No thank you Mr. Tuttle, that's not the world I choose to live in.
Curtain: Please look at the last part of my post.
And take it to heart.
I re-read the last part of your post as you suggested. What show am I trying to sell, and what exaxtly should I "take to heart"? I didn't mention a specific show in my original post. I haven't seen 'Bklyn' yet, so I don't have an opinion on it one way or the other. But does that mean I can't look forward to seeing it? If I've read positive things about a show, or heard a song that I really enjoyed, shouldn't I be allowed to get exicted about it and share that information, without being accused of being a "shill"? And when I do see it, should I like (or God forbid, love) it, should I not be allowed to express my opinion here? It's only natural when you see something that excites and uplifts you to want to share it with others. At least that's MY nature.
my post was deleted?
OH MY!
this is a first.

And how about those who actually HAVE seen the show and love it enough to want everyone else to experience it. Have you ever heard of sharing? Yeah, some people are shills, but not everyone that says they love BKLYN is one. Some people that say they love it actually DO love it. Hard to believe, I know, but it's true. I'm sure by now you're all familiar with the constantly quoted reviews, so you can tell by now whether we're just cut-and-pasting reviews from Denver or are actually telling how we love this musical. Because people do love it, so much that they can't bear to keep this show little known. It's only a matter of time before commercials and big ads come out, but why can't we tell other people how good it is oursvles before everyone is labeled a shill?

Yeah, that's real mature. Why don't you try standing up for something you care about instead of just being rude to everyone else.

Am I rude to everyone else? Hmm.
I just like to say 'shill.' No personal attacks are needed.
She's not being rude. She's being witty. And succeeding.
Last time I checked this thread wasn't about people being witty.

Did they change the name to BKLYN? Could somebody from the front office let us know?

Go check what it says on the official logos, then re-think that last post.

yes... I hve noticed MANY blatantly obvious Shills for this show already..
Do you even see a difference between a shill and someone that loves a show? Because there is.
Gypsy2... don't waste your time arguing with these sour bores. If they didn't have something or someone to tear apart they wouldn't be happy. I, for one, can't wait to see BKLYN!!! And I'd rather root for it's success than it's failure.
P.S. And they didn't drop the "R". It wasn't there to begin with. BKLYN is the proper abbreviation for Brooklyn.
