Les Miserables when I was 12. I had already seen Wicked and The Lion King, but Les Miserables just made me love Broadway. :)

My Fair Lady when I was about 10. It's the show that I saw as first show and I saw it about 5 times then as my father conducted.
I also saw Barnum when I was about 1 year old, but that doesn't count, because I don't recall it.

I distinctly remember being with my grandparents. They rented a video called "Little Shop of Horrors" because they hadn't seen it in a long time and they thought it would be nice to show me a funny movie. I was about 8 at the time. I watched it once with them and then immediatley after again...you know how little kids are. Pappy, that's what I used to call him...and sometimes (shamefully) now...went away to get "gas" for his car. I was getting into my night clothes and he walked through the door with a bought copy of "Little Shop of Horrors". I was extremely happy for that. A month or two later, the Pennsylvania Playhouse, only fifteen miles away from their house, was putting on a show called: "Little Shop of Horrors". That was the first live musical I ever saw. It was the most memorable experience. If I ever make it to Broadway and win a Tony, the first person I'll thank will be my Pappy.

While I had seen a few shows earlier (Beauty and the Beast, pre-Broadway; Peter Pan), I was too young to appreciate them. Thus, I'm a little embarrassed to say that the show that did me in was Cats...I was 8. Actually I really didn't like (and still don't) most of the show. However, all the magic of theater came to me during the "Mr. Mistofelees" dance break. While I since moved on to greater things, I will never forget my humble beginnings .
I fell in love with the cast recording of Rent and decided that I did love Broadway. As far as a show I had seen...after seeing Aida, while I didn't love it, I was in love with live theatre.
When I was in fourth grade I saw Guys and Dolls, which made me realize I love Broadway. Today its not my favorite musical, but it will always be my most memorable because it turned me on to Broadway.
When I was 10 years old I saw the tour of Les Miserables and the World Premiere of Jane Eyre about a month apart. I've been a freak ever since.
Phantom of the Opera- Age 8
I kind of have a two phase fascination.
Growing up my parents were addicted to the the theater so all of my favorite movies were musicals. They took my brother and I to see our first show... Starlight Express when I was a little kid. I then saw Phantom many years after that and didn't really see much until my fiance took me to see Into the Woods with Vanessa Williams a few years back.. From there my obsession was reignited.

Yeah, my folks were very theatre oriented too. We saw lots of community plays and such. The first professional show I saw was "Roar of the Greasepaint, Smell of the Crowd" with Anthony Newley and Cyril Ritchard. It was a profound experience.
Aida! I was 12 and could care less that I was seeing a broadway show. After the show it was all I could talk about and I'm now going to college as a musical theatre major. Funny how those things turn out :)

My parents always took me to the theatre - pantomimes etc - but the first show that made me think that I had to go back for more was Cats in London when I was about 10 I think. The recent obsession started when I was in France and couldn't see any musicals. After that I've just seen pretty much everything I could.

Phantom, when I was 12.
My family and I drove up to see the Toronto production (It was closer than NY, and my family still isn't comfortable in NYC.). I'd listened to the music and liked it, but I fell in love watching the show. We went to see "Crazy for You" the next night, and as a tapper I was in heaven. I couldn't believe what an experience I'd had the two nights. That was it for me with theater.
ETA: Looking back, I'm so grateful to my Dad. He isn't exactly a fan of musicals ("halftime- time for a beer?"), but he patiently made sure that my Mom and I got to see as many shows as possible. And he actually enjoyed himself occasionally, despite his best efforts. :)

Mine is a little different. I saw "The Nutcracker" when I was three and that did it for me. It wasn't so much a musical obsession as it was the performing arts generally.
However, my mom took me to see the national tour of "The Secret Garden" when I was 8.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF revival when I was...i forgot

Little Shop of Horrors, on tour, at the Ahmanson Theater. I had a fleeting interest in musical theater, and my drama teacher made it mandatory to see one theatrical show each month for a report. I had never seen the original film, and saw part of the musical on HBO when I was seven. None of it prepared me for the incredible experience of professional live theater. I was amazed that someone could take a concept that was so... dumb (I hate to admit it), and turn it into something so completely marvelous. I was lucky; apparently that was the only stop of the tour that had the Audrey II extend into the audience. I completely fell in live with the guy playing Seymour, and when I discovered he'd left the tour, I was quite depressed. Wondering why he left the tour, I looked it up -- he was starring in the film version of RENT. After I saw it again in San Diego, I was immediately hooked, and bought the best-of Broadway highlights of RENT. Once I did that, and started cross-referencing Anthony Rapp to other shows and somehow leading to Sweeney Todd, I was hooked.

Wicked was the first Broadway Show I saw! It's my first love.
April 2, 2004.
While I had seen a few shows (Beauty and the Beast...) on Broadway, at age 7 I found my dad's recording of Sunday in the Park with George and asked him to play it for me and instead he played me the video of it. I was in love. And since then its become my favorite and it led me to find my passion in musical theater.
As sad as it sounds, Mamma Mia when I was 10.
I've been going to community theatre ever since I was little. I remember going and seeing Grease, and Wizard of Oz, and Annie Get Your Gun. I've moved up over the years to real Broadway productions. So I guess there really wasn't one show that solidified my love for live theater. All my musical experiences have helped it become the obsession that it is today :)
