In case you didn't know - the Tony Awards will be airing tomorrow at 8pm EST on CBS. Hugh Jackman hosts for the third time in a row.

Oh! And guess what!! Idina Menzel is presenting the first nine Tony Awards!!! I'm gonna watch that - and then turn the TV off, because the rest of the show will be crap.

WHAT!? She won't be presenting the awards live on the air???? Huh? Oh - it'a gonna be on the broadcast. SOMEONE PLS SOMEHOW RECORD IT FOR ME CUZ IM COMPUTER ILITERATE AND I WANT TO SEE IDINA SOOOOOO BADDDDDDDDLY!!!!!!!

This is the official Tony Awards thread btw. No one else is allowed to post anything about them.

I still can't believe Avenue Q won over Wicked. That is so unfair.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Tonys had a "Best Broadway Website" award? BWW would so totally win! LOL

Well - I gotta go now. I'm annoying myself even - posting this thread. Maybe I should click "Clear Form" and not post it? Then again - I could conform to what the rest of the peeps are doing and click the "Post Message" button...

Then again - I could click the "Preview" button...

OFFICIAL UPDATE: I have clicked the "Preview" button and being different from everyone else only made me isolated - so I'm gonna click the "Post Message" button.

OK but before I do - does anyone know if they're gonna have the RENT trailer air as a commercial tomorrow for the Tony's?????????????

OK! good-bye! i ruv you!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

That was annoying

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

Because the Tony voters wanted to shut out all jukebox musicals.
Whether that was fair or wise or not, I don't know. I haven't seen the show.
