I think that Hugh Jackman should host this show again - he is wonderful with actors and audiences - he is the host with the most
You know this is the first time I've ever heard his name mentioned as a possible host, but I have to say...I like it. You are on to something, maybe you should tell someone, make them aware of this unique possibility. Something just tells me it will catch on if more people knew about it and some discussion occured. Good luck!
Perhaps they can convince Oprah to change her mind. She has the prettiest gowns.

i hope so...i rather have someone else host this year, i just didn't really care for him as a host last year
i think billy crystal, oprah, whoopi, or some other person host it. i have nothing against hugh, just rather not have him be the host
but what am i talking about? i cant even watch the tonys this year because im going to be in darn paris, france!!!
What about Elaine Stritch for Host? Can they make her cut herself off? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I preferred Hugh's hosting earlier on, but last year he just bored the crap out of me and his performance piece was blah.
I want Rosie or Oprah, think of the viewers! (Aka, we will def have a televised award ceremony next year!
As much as I enjoy Hugh, they really need to get someone different.

Hugh has done a great job hosting the Tony's but seriously he is not the designated Tony Awards host, so it's definitely time for some variety. Get someone new, then maybe he can come back in the future to host again sometime.
If you want to think of the viewers get Oprah and not Rosie. Oprah would definitely attract more viewers. However, it would really come accross as as desperate attempt to get ratings since Oprah (other than being one of the producers of a nominated show and attending shows now and then) really has no Broadway connection.

i still think Billy Crystal could do it- like when he came on and was talking with Hugh last year, i thought that was hilarious! he could at least attract some more viewers, and still has a Broadway connection...
just throwing out ideas
Billy Crystal would be a greta host, I think.
I saw Hugh today!
he should host!
he is amazing!

I say Billy Crystal, or Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. I think they would be hilarious together.
Thing with Oprah is that if she doesn't win best musical, she's gonna be a sore loser. You don't want a sore loser host.

After Hugh Jackman's boring and annoying hostin last year, they'll definately get someone else. I liked it better when they had/have two people hosting it together. maybe they should have broderick/Lane again, they were a good combo.

whoopi is the best awards host ever (remember when she dressed up as elizabeth! "this is the only time you'll see me in white face!")
she should host every awards show.

Why not let Jayne Houdyshell do the whole show from her recliner?

i feel really strongly that you can't have hosts that are potential nominees. i don't like that. i didn't like it when hugh did it. i think that's just wrong.
Listen - does anyone remember last year's Tony awards?
I specifically remember coming to these boards afterwards, and us all being pretty much agreed that Hugh Jackman sucked, and was fairly MIA for the evening. Granted, a big part of that was in the writers and how they used him - or I should say DIDN'T use him, or used him quite poorly.
I am wishing with all my might for a new host. I love Hugh, but it's clear after last year that he needs to move on from hosting this, before it goes real bad and people forget how wonderful he could be and only remember how awful it got...
not sure who I'd like to see there. I have to say, recently I've been missing the early days of Rosie, as well as (slightly OT) the early days of Billy Crystal hosting the academy awards.
They both made them into a real event and something fun where you knew you'd be entertained adn were in for a real treat.
Now it's like "can we get through the evening without falling asleep?"
It's so ....formal and boring. Which is oooooodd for anyone involved in theatre!!!!!
I just want someone who'll breathe some new life into it.
Like Robin Williams or something, lol.
BOB MARTIN.
Screw worrying about viewers, they didn't come then, they're not coming now. Put the whole thing on PBS and let Bob Martin host!
*bangs head against wall*

After seeing Pajama Game on Wed
I thought out loud that
Harry Connick Jr
would be a great choice.
Good cross over appeal
Might even help the TV ratings
