Posted: 3/19/07 at 11:15pmthe revival was OK... i enjoyed it... but it did feel like an expensive regional production rather than something that was broadway bound... what i felt didn't work with the new revised edition (which i think i mentioned before in a thread) was that they way too hard to be updated... to the point where it was pandering to the audience... the update references seemed so force and out of place that it wasn't a musical about a girl longing to come home, but rather a musical about technology... this production had no real heart to it... what it did have was amazing new orchesrations, a wonderful cast, and a wonderful set, to a point... i hate the the screens everywhere and the onstage seating... i just didn't get it... oh well...
