I havent seen it yet, but something tells me everyone is going to go back to loving Sutton like they did when she was Millie.
Okay, TMM is not a good example of a long-running show lol, but still.
I think with the case of Little women is that it appeals to many different age groups, and its a great story filled with very talented people.

But this thread is about Wicked isn't it? lol

Little Women is a very flawed show with a great cast.

It'll probably get mixed reviews and run about a year or so.

hmm just a year?
That's still good though for a broadway show, no?

i agree it will prosper they need to start touring tho yes i think there will be some dissappointed idina fans but i think once they see shosh it will be fine and in a few years they will prolly come out with a movie and totally ruin it like they did with phantom that movie is so different that the show i think y so many people like wicked is cause everyone no matter what age relates to it and people like that in shows and just the non reality of it all it takes u away and lets u bee who u wasn but poor idina if only if only there was something i could do but i am prayin for her i love ya dee love ya much love

That's the longest run-on sentene I think I've ever seen. re: The fate of WICKED

This will sound completely callous, but what the heck... When I see poorly written sentences like that, "retarded" springs to mind.

I think it will run a good long time because it is great for any age. I dont know about 18 years, but i can see it beating Lion King one day at least.

I'm not sure how long Wicked will last but I don't think Idina leaving will have a negative effect on it. Idina's gone now & the show is still selling tickets. I've been looking for tickets for the first weekend in April & ticketmaster is already sold out. I know that there are other sites to purchase tickets from but ticketmaster being sold out obviously shows that Idina leaving is not having the negative effect everyone thinks it will. I guess we'll have to just wait & see how long it lasts!!

Wicked says they have 30 million in the bank advance sale. That is 20 weeks or about 30 weeks if you count only the orchestra.

With all due and true respect to Idina Menzel, outside of our own rarified universe, nobody knows who she is. With Wicked now, the show is the star.

This is what they hoped would happen with The Producers, but it did not come to pass.

Wicked stays put.

We've all heard the expression that justice is blind. But this thread proves justice is certifiably insane too.

::laughs really loud::

The show is the star kids .. if it last 10 years fantastic for them. Maybe Edenina will come back when shes 72 and can play nessa in her wheel chair.

I agree that it's not going anywhere soon. And although the show is the star, I think Idina and Kristin had a big hand in making that so. I live and Denver and people here know about it and are dying to see it. It gets here next fall.

i can definitley see wicked becoming a very long-running show. at this point, even though the cast will change and that may have a slight affect on the obsession that has come along with the musical, the musical itself is brilliant enough to hold up. it's a family show and can appeal to a vast variety of people.

i hope it runs long enough to give idina, kristen and norbert a chance to reprise their roles if either of them ever feel inclined to do so.
