fine, bernie is great but i dont think she's done as much as Chita, and bernie doesnt dance NEARLY like chita can. Clearly Chita is the stronger TRIPLE.
I've been doing theatre longer than some people on BWay right now, and that certainly doesn't make me more talented than them.
Bernadette is fabulous, but Chita the Queen of Theater, no question about it.

um i kinda confused....you said that you have been doing theatre longer than some people on bway but still aren't as good as them...that is exactly what i said, but then you said chita is the queen of theatre, im kinda confused as to witch pole your learning towards....??????
Ooo, yeah... that didn't make much sense, did it? I was just commenting on how it really doesn't matter how long you've been doing theater. In the words of you know who: "You either got it, or you aint!" Some people are just naturaly gifted, someone could start at 50, and have as much talent as a 50 year old who's been acting all their life. But, for the record, Chita could act, sing and DANCE circles around Berny.

Actually, perhaps one should start with a working definition of "triple threat."
Triple Threat = exceling in 3 (or more) different medium, or elements within the same media.
Bob Fosse was a triple threat twice over. Dancer, choreographer, director on stage and dancer, director and choreographer on film.
Orson Wells was a quadruple threat: actor/writer/director/producer in film
Meredith Wilson was a triple threat: book, music and lyrics
Lionel Bart was a triple threat: book, music and lyrics
Triple Threat does NOT = someone who performed in 3 or more musicals (sorry Chita, much as love you and deserving credit for simply surviving while still dancing, you're not a triple threat).
Triple Threat does NOT = someone who by virtue of one performance which brings a level of some recognition is wished to one. (Sutton, Marissa, blah, blah, blah, the usual suspects.)
Yours for a Broadway always full of Triple Threat talents!

no you're right it doesnt, but chita didnt simply survive, she IS the essence of dancing, acting, singing=triple! chita is and always will be musical theatre.

ok what is your problem bernadette 88! do you know her or something! or are you her!
ok well lemme tell you this! obviously Chita's better, or Bernie woulda recieved the tony for Mama Rose, the greatest character in musical theatre history! She was a shoe in! basically anyone who plays mama wins to acclaim, but bernie lost to a minor leaguer singing nasally through her nose! what does THAT tell you!
I didnt mean to get rude, but YOU told me to blow it out my ass! You asked for it! SO now STEP DOWN, and get off MY fu%&^ing back!

i don't believe chita won the tony she was nom. for this year...did she??? No the only reason Bernadette didn't get it was because she had been sick so much which wasn't her fault!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey i know she deserved it!!! And Bernadette knows she deserved it!!!!!! Bernadette rules all!!! She is much more well-known by people. Chita who??? that is what people say!!! But bernadette has made it big on the screen, with her grammy nominated and winning albums, and with her awesome performances!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so there!!!!!!!

thank you broadway bulldog, didnt mean to insult the performer!
Okay... I am trying very hard not to dislike you Bernadette88, but you are making it very hard. There's no need to freak out on people simply because you're obsessed. I don't think anyone on this site will say she is not very talented, but you need to get a grip.

yes you can love bernie, totally fine, but dont become overly obsessed and start lashing out for NO REASON.
love her, not HATE for her.

whatever bernadette88, no chita didnt win this year, but chita wasnt portraying a for sure fire win role. bernadette WAS. what does that say about her performance? my point exactly.
ok, look, bernie's great let's leave it at that. i dont know what's your problem. look, you're new to the board so lets let this go.

"You have to be a moron not to win for Rose"
Bernadette is far from a moron. While I think Bernadette88's comments are just as out of place, there is no need to call her a moron.
I agree, robactorguy. She is not, by all means, a moron. I think this whole topic is tired. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just saying we need to move on.

Varla. She's the only one. From her roles in the Chicago revival and Japanese tour to her appearance in the Funny Girl benefit concert and her incredible work as Rosemary on All My Children, nobody, but nobody can touch her. When Betty Buckley wanted to perform numbers from Carrie in her act, who did she call for the duets? Varla.
